I came across this page saying Les is Rockets number one fan. Docent seam like it. http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2011/12/rockets-owner-leslie-takes-job-as-fan-seriously/
Les is the Rockets #1 Fan. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ueHC7pgfYGU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I like his "hate losing" attitude. I honestly rather have him as the owner than some other owners who literally tanks every year(Wizards).
Bad metaphor alert: I like his "hating losing" attitude up to a point. But hating losing without going through the pains of "tanking" for this franchise is like hating being fat without going through the pains and rigor of exercise.
To me, it's clear that Les is a casual fan; not a die-hard fan (to steal some of Clutch and Bima's podcast chat). Casual fans just want to put out a good product that can win more games than they lose. A die-hard fan wants Houston to be a contender and is willing to do anything it takes to bring about that outcome.
Les Alexander brought to me the best memory I have of sports for the city. I will not be the ungrateful person and deny him my loyalty. He may have not hired the best people since those last championhips. He is trying and I believe that with a true passion for trying to win another championship in Les's heart? He will eventually hit another high note again.
I say we get a petition going to ask for Less to sell the team if things do not get better this off season.
Or we could do this^ The Rockets rebuild much like teams who sell their franchises often do. We tank and get the first pick in the draft or top 3 for the first 2 years of the new owner and I get what I want either way.
