Torn Achilles. We now have ZERO outside shooting. You saw our offensive gameplan last night, this is not good.

Sorry for him. Perhaps the Nuggets should take a look at Hubert Davis or Tracy Murray?

On top of that I watched the game and man carmelo doesn't know the meaning of pass. He took way too many shots and tried too hard to single handily bring the team back with very little success. I hope he drives Denver into the ground.

Sorry to hear about Lenard. I was really hoping the Nugz could beat the Lakers yesterday. Good luck w/ your season (except when playing the Rockets, of course).

That really sucks for Lenard. Denver too, I guess, but especially Lenard.

They had discussed a big lineup of Nene/Camby/Martin/Carmelo/Miller

and used it some in a preseason game. Athletically that is intriguing. Can they shoot well enough?

Seeing as Martin is a career 22% 3P shooter, Miller has never shot above 27% from above the arc, and Melo's rookie season 3P% was 32.2%, I'm going with no.

The Nuggets will be a good team when/if Carmello realizes it's a team sport.

Nuggets4, would you do Nene for Joe Johnson or Q and the Bulls pick? Some other parts would have to be involved obviously but this would be the core guys.

So, does this mean Earl Boykins will not start? If so, then I need to pick him up for my fantasy team. :)

During the game, when they said that it was a torn achilles tendon and that he would be "out a while" I immediately thought of Mo Taylor and said "He's gone for at least the entire season". In fact, Mo was out for an entire season and was slow in his return the following season.

It ain't looking good for the nugs. Having one shooter was very shaky, but now they've got no shooters. Demarr or White have really gotta step up or they could easily miss the playoffs in the west. Jon Barry might have helped if they still had him.

And what was up with chris mihm dominating that "most talented front line in the leauge"?

If teams just play decent transistion D, the Nuggets are gonna have lots of scoring problems. And their D isn't good enough to compensate for that.

Like Barkley said. The most overrated team this season.

Tough break for Lenard. Sorry he got injured. I am sure Denver could move Skita for a SG somewhere.

OK, if I come across as an ass in this post it's because:

    A.) I am
    B.) It's been a long week and I'm exhausted.

First of all, to all the Melo haters -- thank you for your opinion. I don't care. This thread has nothing to do with Melo. He sucked last night, but considering how the rest of the team was playing, I'd MUCH rather have him jacking them up than anyone else. Our bench shot 3-for-25. I don't care how he acted on Punk'd. I don't care if he got caught with weed. This thread is about Lenard. Thank you.

SJC, you mention a few players but odds are if the Nugs sign anyone, it'll be PG Troy Bell from Memphis. They're talking to him now. Hopefully this would mean waving Mark Pope, but God only knows what would happen. Icehouse, you might want to pick up Boykins. The Nugs are gonna run a lot of 2 PG offenses this year anyway before the injury. Now, it could be our starting line-up. I don't like that idea because Boykins is better as a sparkplug, but right now...... I still think that DeMarr Johnson should be starting at the 2. Buckner can't shoot to save his life (great defender though). White is too slow and his best shooting is apparently done out of a car window at 3 am. Byron Russell? I hope we're not that desperate, but I'd take him over Buckner starting. Hence the Troy Bell possibility.

As for the performance last night, it was disgusting. That said, I'm gonna re-watch the game tonight to see if anything new jumps out at me. Initially, my thoughts are pretty straight forward -- we have a team that is not used to expectations and all of a sudden has a LOT of them. It showed. They came out tense and the Lakers jumped all over them. We are more talented than we played last night. Well coached? That's another argument. Kelly, if you're reading this, I'd love to hear your thoughts on that because I know you and I had a long discussion about that before this season. Bzzzzzz still hasn't installed a half-court offense. Now with the one jump shooter out of the line-up, all we have are slashers. That could make it ugly and makes Camby even more important (which, as I have said many many many times, scares the hell out of me).

This has shades of the Calvin Natt opening day injury that effectively ended the Nugs season. God I hope I'm wrong, but if I do not see a dramatically different team Thursday night, I'm gonna be scared.
