HOF pitcher and quite possibly the greatest post-season pitcher of all time Bob Gobson passes away at 84 on October 2nd 2020 of pancreatic cancer. Gibson retired in 1975 and myself only being 50 I don't recall his career but I know he was an all time great. My father passed from pancreatic cancer in July 2016 after a 18 month battle, just a horrible disease. Maybe we need to have a MLB sub forum where we can discuss and celebrate items other then our beloved Astros. If you're not already familiar with who and what Gibson was I'd implore to take a look.

It's a very short list of pitchers you would take over peak Bob Gibson, most wouldn't argue if you had him at the top.

When I was a kid, probably 10 or so, I bought his rookie baseball card. I’m sure I still have it somewhere. Not that anyone gives a **** about baseball cards anymore!

MLBN is replaying the 1968 WS Game 1 Tigers vs Cardinals right now.

Gibson: FIVE hits, ONE walk 17 SOs. Game time 2:29. haha

Made 3 starts and pitched 27 innings in all 3 of his WS. In '64 he threw a CG in game 7 2 days after throwing a 10 inning CG in game 5. He won both.

The list is even shorter if you're talking about scariest pitchers: Gibson, Drysdale, Richard, Unit, Ryan (I'm not counting relievers)
