Anybody know a good leg sleeve for basketball and or tennis/running? Sometimes after strenuous running my lower legs are very sore; not the calves but towards the front. I heard they're good in preventing shin splints and other lower leg muscle issues. I'm not getting it to "look cool" on the court. It's for practical reasons and actually medical reasons. Is there a good leg sleeve that has the necessary intended support but at the same time let me move around freely?

Does anyone have experience with these? are they washable? durable? how long do they last?

Seriously speaking, I don't think you should be asking us... if it is for medical reasons, why not ask your doctor?

As long as you do the STEVIE FRANCIS strong-man walk after scoring, you're in the clear, sir.

I wear the slip on McDavid brand leg sleeves. I used to get shin splints frequently when I started playing basketball/running again. Now, I don't use them anymore since I don't have much lower leg pains. They are easy to wash and last a long time and you can get them from Sports Authority, Big 5, or any other sporting goods store I assume. I also have the strap on leg sleeves as well but I hate it.

A good pair of shoes would probably help a lot as well o_O. I love full length zoom air or double stack zoom air Nikes. Feels very comfy and like you're walking/running on a sponge.

Yeah from what I've seen it seems like McDavids are the best out there. Thanks alot for your input. I should probably invest in a new pair of ball shoes as well. Its about that time! I've always liked the Nike Huaraches, more so than the Zoom Air.

    I was looking at these:

    and

Do you think there's any difference from the Power Jumper and True Compression series? I wouldn't want one with straps either, that sounds uncomfortable lol.

Zoom air is the cushioning system, not the actual shoe. All the newer Huaraches have this technology. It goes something like this..

    Air bubble - old gen
Zoom Air (most Jordan, Kobe, Lebron shoes have this cushioning system. Some have double stack zoom in the heel which is extremely comfy but I prefer full length zoom)
Lunarite foam - Hyperdunks, Hyperize (heel Zoom Air/ forefoot Lunar Foam)
Air Max 360 - (the newest Lebron shoe has 80 percent more air then previous air max 360 shoe o_O)

You should just go to your local sports store and try the sleeves on. They come in different sizes so you'll have to see which fits you the best. The packaging are easy to open( pop on/off plastic cover) so you can try them on.

Appreciate the info. I'll definitely check it out. I'm considering ordering it online. Footlocker and other sites have some good deals going on. Might cop a shoe along with it. But like you said might be better to actually try them on. By the way, how tall are you and what size did you use? I'm 5'11 and I don't know if I should get medium or large. I'm guessing medium if NBA players use these too.

    ps. +1 rep

Wow, those looks insane.. It looks like they target the calves and I feel the soreness more towards the front, near the shin. But I'll def keep these in mind. Thanks!

I'm 5'10 and I wear a large. It depends on how big your calves are too. You might have Keon Clark scrawny type of legs I dunno.

As for shoes I've become somewhat of a collector lately ~_~. I got like 15 pairs and I put them all to good use!) I find them cheap at Nike Outlets and Ross. I got mostly Kobe's signature line and some of Lebrons.
