I guess this is just another example of the right to exercise freedom of speech, right? http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=39976 Here's an exerpt: According to the New York Daily News, fringe elements are hoping to spark major disruptions "with a series of sneaky tricks – including fooling bomb-sniffing dogs on trains bound for Penn Station." "Internet-using anarchists are telling would-be troublemakers to decoy specially trained Labrador retrievers with gunpowder or ammonium nitrate-laced tablets in a bid to halt trains or even spur the evacuation of Madison Square Garden," the paper reported. The Republican convention will be held at Madison Square Garden Aug. 30 through Sept. 2. New York City police have expressed concern about the way some of these groups have used the Internet to disseminate plans for disruption. Among those messages cited: "Go to a rifle, pistol or skeet shooting range, spend an hour shooting to saturate clothing with smell of gunpowder, go directly to a New Jersey Transit, LIRR or subway train headed for Penn Station. "Try to have at least two people on a train in different locations, sit or stand near the doors as the train approaches the station, try to get near police and dogs, loiter as long as possible around the dog, try to pet it if possible. "If the dog alerts on your scent, do not leave or resist; the situation will cause a major disruption of the train schedule. ... If there is more than one person on the train that causes a dog to alert, you can bet that the train will not be going anywhere for a long time ... neither will any trains behind it. "It is important that the police call in all possible resources to investigate the situation. ... This will result in the maximum disruption. ... With any luck, Madison Square Garden will be evacuated. "Rush hours are ideal, the final night of the convention, very good, too."
We may hold off and run him in 2008. Cheney will drop a couple of f-bombs on Edwards and have him crying for mommy after the debates.
Where in the article does it say that these fringe groups are leftest. They said that they are anarchist. Just because you don't agree with the republican party, doesn't mean you are on the left.
Anarchists would be considered very far left on the political spectrum. Sadly, when deciding on categories, there's only left and right to put people in. Even here, the anarchists are put into the left-wing column: http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Left-Right_politics
It would be bad enough if they were going to use those tactics to just disrupt the RNC, but if it goes like they want they are going to disrupt a whole city of people not even involved with the RNC. I hope some pissed of New Yorker beats the crap out of one of those idiots.

How exactly does one determine where something fits on the one-dimensional left-right scale? If people consider Democrats as intruding on government and making their way into every facet of life and society, then going to the extreme left would mean what...? Now if going to the right means approaching the Republican ideal of small, limited government, then going out to infinity, wouldn't you approach anarchy? That's why the two-dimensional Political Compass seems so much better.
It appears relatively random from time to time to me. It used to bother me when every dictatorship was described as "right wing" on the news. But we're going to just have to get used to it, apparently.
Unfortunately, both sides have to deal with low-lifes who support the same candidate as mainstream members of each side. Just as I'm not proud, as a liberal, of these people who are attempting to disrupt the Republican Convention in this manner, I'm sure you're not proud of racist KKK members like David Duke who are professed Republicans.
Actually, since the far left is communism, or a LOT of government, anarchists would be far right, where they believe in the near total lack of government. Can't even get your ideologies straight?
Cheney will drop a couple of f-bombs on Edwards during the debates, and reaction from middle class America will be... But don't worry. Bush and Cheney will join the ranks of the unemployed after November 2nd.
Anarchists don't support Kerry. They are anarchists, after all. Rocket104, "True" anarchists are libertarian socialists, so that is why they are leftist. They don't really believe in no government. I get the feeling, though, that "internet anarchists" just means "no government" type touble-makers.
