I am not real sure how i feel about LBJ going to Miami, but what i do feel is that LBJ's star presence is kind of feels dwarfed now. I wonder if LBJ really had a choice to begin with. After watching the "decision" yesterday, i got the feeling that he wasnt really heart and soul into this. He almost started to cry when he say his jersey being burned too. That was crazy. Anyways back to my point, I remember Bosh saying it all starts from Lebron and his decision but in the end, it was Bosh & Wade who made the decision first. In the end putting all the pressure on Lebron to have to go to Miami. Essencially I think they turned the tables on Lebron and he couldnt do anything else but go to Maimi. It was the summer of Lebron but really I dont think he had all that much freedom to pick. Anyways Do you guys think this was his choice or was his hand forced.
Of course he has mixed feelings, because he's going to be reviled. I've heard people (Josh Ennis on 610) saying that he's a coward if he chooses to stay in Cleveland where he's comfortable instead of accepting the challenge of playing elsewhere and accepting the scrutiny. If he went to Chicago, people would say he's trying to be better than Jordan and they'll hate on him for that. If he went to NY or NJ, they'd say he only cares about being a billionaire. If he went to the Clippers, he's trying to trump Kobe in his house. If he goes to Miami, he's trying to piggy-back on Dwyane Wade to a championship. Whatever decision he made, he should have just done it in a quiet manner. This 1-hour special totally backfired. And if he decided to leave Cleveland, maybe put out a hearfelt letter in the paper explaining his decision.
I totally agree with you. No matter his decision he would have gotten alot of flamming for it. Because of that do you think he really had a choice? I mean with all the media hype and this 1 hr special. And being part of the Wade, Bosh thing, i get the feeling that his choice wasnt really independent but rather dependent. and if his choice was dependent where is the freedom there? I think he thought that he would make the choice first and everyone would fall in line after him...But i think this free agency showed that wasnt the case....
Agreed. I absolutely think he needed to leave Cleveland if he wanted to win. That team was in cap hell, is on its third head coach and hasn't proven anything in the draft. The city sucks as well. No matter where he was going to go though it would get him ripped. Like you said, his mistake was making this narcissistic dramatic show of it all instead of acting humbly about it.
I'm sorry, but there's no way he gets nearly the backlash if he went to NY or stayed in Cleveland. If he went to NY, some would think he did it for the money. But most would also see it as a challenge to turn a ruined franchise into respectability. In a way, he'd be like KG and Allen combined, as that player who saved a storied, but currently garbage franchise. If he stayed in Cleveland, he simply has to talk about how "he wants to bring a championship to his hometown" and people will respect him for that. Either case, his legacy as a superstar do not take a hit. But with Miami after knowing Bosh and Wade signed up, fans can't help but belittle him for being a cop-out.
No way. Him going to NY would validate the belief that he only cares about money, his brand, and his ego, and not about winning. NY was the worst place for him to go to if he wanted to win.
I kind of feel WADE was the mastermind. The laughing in the Wade/Piggy-Back interview. The fact that King Fame tried to get Piggy-Back to come to Cleveland earlier in the week. The only person that is getting off Scott-free is Wade. No one is mad at him. I think somehow he coerced King Fame into this decision. It has been widely reported that King Fame is extremely indecisive. Wade apparently is not. I think Wade manipulated this situation.
I don't get this. Why? Give me a good reason why the Knicks with Lebron, Amare, and shrewd personnel that Kevin Prichard can make would prevent the Knicks from winning?
Totally agree with you that he should have done it quietly. He should have just told the media to back off and let him make the decision without all these dramas. If he decided to leave Cleveland, did it in a classy way. And his performance in his last playoffs series as a Cavalier didn't help his PR in Cleveland either.
In reality , he tried to get Bosh to come to Cleveland on several occasions Bosh said NO. Finds out Bosh and Wade are teaming up in Miami. He then examines Kevin Garnett's career. Make his choice to play in Miami: 2 other stars, Top 5 city: clubs, women, weather, beaches. His only mistake: 1 hour TV special
