http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&page=dantonibron McGrady comes off the books at the same time.
Probably not gonna want to leave his hometown. We'll see if things change in 2010 but right now he's got a great chance to contend in the subpar East every year.
Im thinkin he either stays a cav or becomes a knick. I think Dantoni is gonna be a big help in New York. Steve Kerr is not making very good choices right now regarding the Suns.
The whole "Chinese Connection" between Yao's fame and Lebron's ambition was one reason why I thought Houston has a chance to lure away Lebron as a free agent. But I'd imagine it's probably a slim chance. I'd say he's 90% to go to Cleveland or NY, 5% to Houston, and 5% to Other. Of course the percentage goes down to zero if Yao continues having injury problems the next couple years.
I think he'll leave the Cavs if they haven't won a championship (and I can't imagine that they will have). However, I think the Nets and the Knicks will be the top contenders for his services.
Does that mean that if we had Yi we would be our target also??? Then LeBron play in the CBA, you'll average 86 points per game
I think he is going to jump ship and go to NY if they have a half decent team. His ego is going to drive him to the mecca of basketball. He also seems to lack any sense of loyalty although that is admittedly conjecture on my part. I just get the feeling he has definitely bought into his own hype.
No, Lebron won't be half as good by then. Have you seen his numbers this series? He's down to 18 ppg on 20% shooting. Lebron has never been a consistent shooter, i would not sign him especially that his back is a ticking time bomb. He would be exactly like TMAC coming to us then, playing his heart out, getting beaten up, and wasting his best yrs on a crap team.
Unlikely! If Yao is healthy in next two years, he will win a ring (or rings) with Tmac and other rockets. It is not necessary to bring James here. If he was injured again, the rockets wouldn't win the title. Of course, James wouldn't come to play with Yao either.
no way he's coming here. if he leaves cleveland, it's LA (kobe goes off the books too) or NY. he gets more money from nike if he goes to a big city, and he would get more exposure.
If anything, LeBron doesn't want to team up with Yao to win over China, he wants to conquer China on his own. He doesn't need Yao as a teammate to accomplish this. LeBron will be a Knick or a Cav in 2010.....simple as that.
Yeah you're right, going after and building your team around a 6'9 athletic freak wing player that can single handedly take over a game is pure nonsense, this bad series against the #1 defensive team is a harbinger of things to come, he is doomed, Bron will be washed up and in a back brace by 2010... anyways, money talks and Bron will listen to that, we have a sliver of a chance if we decide to not resign Tmac and use the freed cap space to offer Bron. But LBJ is an attention w**** and his preference is a big limelight market like the New York area or LA.
