It makes sense. Walsh is already in Arn Tellem's good graces for trading for T-Mac and playing him lots of minutes. Tellem is JJ's agent.

Clearly LeBron knows nothing about what he needs to win then. A team with LeBron and Joe Johnson with little else would fail spectacularly hard. I hope this happens.

It would be okay, but teaming with Bosh would seem to be the no-brainer.

I think lebron could take the worst team in the league to contender status.

He tooks the following team to the finals:

    Code:

PG 6 United States Shannon Brown (Michigan State)
PG 1 United States Daniel Gibson* (Texas)
PF 90 United States Drew Gooden* (Kansas)
PG 32 United States Larry Hughes (Saint Louis)
C 11 Lithuania Žydrūnas Ilgauskas* (Lithuania)
SF 23 United States LeBron James* - Captain
PG 19 United States Damon Jones (Houston)
PF/C 27 United States Dwayne Jones (Saint Joseph's)
SF	24 United States Donyell Marshall (Connecticut)
SF 14 United States Ira Newble (Miami (OH))
SF 3 Serbia Sasha Pavlović* (Serbia)
PF 31 United States Scot Pollard (Kansas)
PG 20 United States Eric Snow - Captain (Michigan State)
PF/C 17 Brazil Anderson Varejão (Brazil)
SG 4 United States David Wesley (Baylor)

    LeBron prefers Joe's Johnson?

Damn, I always thought he preferred Wally Z's?

LeBron won one 53 wins team to finals in the east.
It's at best as impressive as Jazz overtook 52 wins Rockets that year. It's a lot of easier when you are 50 wins and you are already 2nd seed.

Exactly. I don't know why people here continue to devalue exactly how much LBJ brings to the table. The people on the Cavs can be found anywhere with the exception of Shaq and Big Z. LBJ paired with another max FA and DLeaguers/min vets would be playoff bound barring injury (esp. with Boston on the way down).

As for why he would want JJ, probably because although his offensive skills are overrated, JJ is one of the better defenders in the league. LBJ does much of the gruntwork offensively anyway, what he needs are guys who can create on their own yet still be good shooters. Bosh would be his ideal partner, but looks like all the LBJ hype has made Bosh determined to be his own man. Plus, with JJ people wouldn't doubt who's the main character and who's the sidekick.

I agree with this. Lebron and Wade together does not maximize their talents. You waste Lebron if Wade is handling and driving and Lebron is just a spot up shooter. At the same time, if you have Lebron create and Wade has to play off Lebron, you are going to Wade's weaknesses (outside jumper) as opposed to his strength (driving and finishing).

Lebron and JJ is the combo that allows Lebron to do everything he does now. Except when he throws it out, he is throwing it out to a guy that can hit from anywhere, and that can get his shot off the fake or find the open man. You have the chemistry and order established. Lebron-1 JJ-2. I like it. And I hope it doesn't happen in NY because if they get those two guys, the rest of the team will fall together relatively easily like the Celtics a few years ago as vets like McGrady, etc. decide they want to play on a championship contender and they sign for cheap.

    Lebron
    JJ
    Lee
    Gallinari
    House

add guys like Jermaine O'neal or Marcus Camby, Mike Miller, Travis Deiner or J.J. Barea, veteran players with defined skill sets to fill roles that are willing to come for the minimum and you've got the Celtics all over again. What if Ray Allen decided to roll over to the Knicks for a small deal? ................

If Lebron and JJ go to the Knicks, they should re-sign Lee, then look for another skilled vet big that will sign cheap, that can provide some D and rebounding, and a post move or two, and a point guard that can flat out shoot it and has some off-ball skills.

Lebron and JJ is a good combo. Basically this is your new "Jordan+Pippen" combo. Lebron is your #1 option and JJ is robin to Lebron's Batman. You have a dynamite 2/3 combo that can play multiple positions. Since both handle the ball so well they just need a basic scoring PG like the old Bull days with Paxon/Kerr etc.

JJ is the guy that Cleveland originally wanted many seasons ago when they had cap room but ended up getting Larry Hughes.

I think a Lebron+JJ combo plus whatever the Knicks can put together could be really solid for them.

THEN...that leaves Chris Bosh open to going somewhere else....like forcing a trade to Houston!

Lebron, JJ and Dleaguers/min vets would suck.

    Curry/Dwayne Jones
    Galinari/Rod Benson
    Lebron/Chandler
    JJ/James White
    Toney Douglas/Will Conroy

Weak frontline=No blocking, no defense, no rebounding.
No depth, means Dwayne Jones, Rod Benson, and Conroy could see time as starters. I don't care if they got Lebron and JJ, they won't win with those guys.

We don't need CB4 when we have Jordan Hill. All we need to do is to develop him and Budinger (the new Joe Johnson) in the next 15 games and we are gold. Haven't you heard DD talking?

I can't find someone on the roster we can develop into a Lebron, though. And that's troubling to me.

Problem is that they cannot get Lebron, JJ, AND keep Lee, which is why I think New York's screwed. A simple look at the numbers would show that.

If vets are so interested in playing with Lebron for $1 mil vet min, then Cleveland would have signed them. I don't see Lee, Camby, Mike Miller, or those other vets signing for $1mil/yr.

Ray Allen has his championship ring. The $1 mil minimum is not even enough money to pay his income taxes this year.

    Agreed.

Even if Lee decides to play for $1 million to get a ring, wouldn't he rather go with a proven champ like the Lakers to play with Kobe, Gasol and Phil Jackson, instead of a gutted Knicks team with a coach that has always failed to win a NBA ring?

Ring chasing vets for the minimum have the Lakers as their 1st choice.
