Barkley is right it is disrespectful to the Cavs but it's not like LeBron can help it. Either way, Bron will be public enemy number 1 when he leaves Cleveland. Not that he cares but it'd suck to be a a Cavs fan and have your hometown hero bolt.
I think what Barkley said is true. James should just play the game & stop talking about 2010. It would suck being a Cavs fan and counting down the days before the main attracting in town walks away...
Barkley is right and I said the same thing to my brother when I saw the story about James in NY on PTI this week. I just said WTF is wrong with this guy? He should have just said "no comment, that's 2 years from now, I'm only thinking about winning a championship right now."
I really feel for LeBron. He and his team are playing some great basketball right now, and all anyone in the media seems to care about is 2010. If I was him, I would just refuse to answer any more questions about that summer. "No comment" is all that needs to be said. These questions need to stop, it's not like you're going to get a new answer when you ask the same question over and over.
Feel sorry for LeBron? Why? The problem isn't the questions, it's that he won't take your advice and shut up about it. Once LeBron gives the signal he won't talk about 2010 anymore, this will die down. His repeated chatter about his professed "love" for everything about New York and MSG being the "Mecca" of basketball has inflamed the issue.
Gotta agree with the Round Mound on this one. The fact that LeBron is even TAKING questions about something that's going to happen 2 YEARS FROM NOW is disrespectful to the Cavs. I know the media is making a big deal about it, but that's their JOB. They're supposed to make a big deal about things. If he just says "no comment", then there IS no story to make a big deal ABOUT.
Calling someone "stupid" in public isn't a blast? I usually don't like Barkley talking out of his behind. But this time I am with him. LeBron should just shut up. He's acting like he enjoys all the media attention about his free agency. I'd be mad if I was a Cavs fan.
Sir Charles is right. No matter how you look at it. James seems to be in it for the money plain and simple. If I was the Cavs I would offer him a max deal. If he doesn't want tit I doubt he would pass on 20 mil to play in NY. And I doubt Nike will give him an additional 20 Mil to make up the difference. They are already paying him out the ying yang anyhow.
come on lebron you still have to respect the legend sir charles. IMO lebron is looking out for himself and the lebron james brand, im sure he has addressed his teammates on the subject. They know he is 100 percent with them in his commitment to trying to win a championship so they should be satisfied and the cavs are playing excellent basketball right now so cavs fans should be satisfied. He is just flirting with the knicks to give them hope, but he is probably teasing them. lol
I don't agree with Charles Barkley on a lot of things, but he is right on this one. Lebron is being disrespectful to the Cleveland Cavaliers fans and even to an extent to the team by his talking about free agency.
The Cavaliers are off to their best start ever (Even though its not saying much since its the Cavaliers) Their looking to be big contenders, why in the world would LeBron leave unless the Cavaliers don't make any moves?
If Lebron thought he caught hell for not bringing it home for Cleveland when they lost to the spers wait till he gets to NY and they don't win. He will be ripped like there is no tomorrow. I would never go to NY because you cant win there. If they win a title he was supposed to to that if he doesnt he is a bum. Thats just how NY is. If he brings a title to the Cavs they may change the name of the arena to the Lebron center and he will be a hero till he dies. I just think leaving your hometown is just a chicken**** move. There are dozens of NBA players who would die to be able to be a star in their hometowns.
I love the Chuckster. He's wrong on a lot of things which makes him entertaining, but he's dead on with this one. Lebron even has a history of offending Cleveland fans wearing a Yankees hat at an Indians game and being on the Cowboys sideline at a Browns game. What's really sad is that he's actually an Ohio native. He's just a band wagon fan.
Barkley is 100% right, and Lebron calls him "stupid" for pointing out the obvious--esp. since Sir Charles has paid his dues, and is anything but stupid. I'm not the moral police but publicly alluding that you are going to leave the team while you're supposedly a championship contender's best player is insulting. Lebron doesn't need to say, "I'll never leave Cleveland" and keep his options closed. He needs to stop teasing Knicks fans with his self-serving flattery, all the while mentioning 2010, and then throw a hissy fit when taken to task over it. Funny how golden boy Lebron gets a pass for this sort of thing, whereas TMac, Paul Pierce, KG, Michael Redd, and scores of others I could name right now if I weren't so tired were lambasted as "losers" for expressing (more or less privately) their displeasure/concern with their respective teams.
