How about every player in the NBA has faults. Shaq can't shoot freethrows. Jason Kidd isn't consistent from the outside. Kevin Garnett doesn't take over enough. Yeah Steve isn't the ideal point guard, but he is a heck of a player. So you guys need to stop bashing him everyday. He is a three time all-star two time starter, he was the second pick in the draft, and co-rookie of the year. Sometimes when you watch a player 82 games you're un-grateful. T-Mac went 3-20 the other night. You don't see other teams star players for 82 games so you only judge them on espn highlights and the 5 to 6 games you watch a season. So you guys who want Baron Davis who has a history of bad knees and this is the first time he has been shape and has cooled off alot since the beginning of the year or Kirk Hinirich who rookie season stats suck compared to Steve, you guys need to watch another sport.
I think they only threads I hate more than the Steve bashing threads are the pro-Steve threads...they seem to attract the Steve haters like a burglar dipped in meat juices attracts a doberman...
forreal I tell you . . . I may not be doubting steve I may not be doubting Ming I may not even be doubting JVG but I am beginning to buy into all the houston is full of fairweather fan thing . . . . . Rocket River I've always defended the houston fan . . but now .. .
Poor Steve, he is so misunderstood, abused, and mistreated. I bet his steering wheel in his Rolls Royce is tear stained, and his butler has heard many stories of woe. Perhaps the fans in Houston will one day appreciate him before the Rockets let him go. Dedicated to Rocket River
The year that Steve doesn't play with Yao he will not be a starting all star. Steve only got the start because the same people that voted for Yao voted for Steve.
I dont agree w/ that, i think he got the start for the same reason VC always gets in the top 3 in voting ONLY becuase of the way he dunks and the way he played before. Fans are still in the past if they look at Carters numbers they really arnt that great and he is ALLWAYS on the injured list. Last year i dont think he even played and got to start in the all star game (though he gave it up to MJ) That said i think Steve will be left alone when he starts to player smarter and backs up all the "great" stuff he says in the newspapers.
I starting to feel sorry for Steve. His attitude, I think, is really great. He really feeds yao the ball and encourages his team. He's just not shooting very well. He's missing layups and short jumpers he use to always make. He's playing team ball, just not very well. If he can turn it around and maintain Yao's number of touches, these team will be very good.
i must have been seeing someone who really resembles francis then, and am i clicking the wrong player profile, becasue it says he started 3 times???
