I've always wanted to learn Arabic, and now that I'm out of college, I finally have a bit more spare time to do so. Can you guys recommend any local resources for learning the language (preferably in the northwest side), such as a mosque/community center/etc? Tomball College is the closest CC, and it looks like they don't offer it.

Step 1 - Make sure you have an ample supply of Phlegm.

UH has an Arabic-language program for non-native speakers. Go here:

You can try contacting the lady if you want to inquire about the program. Good luck! Learning Chinese or Arabic would make you more marketable to employers in the public or private sector. You already know English, so build on that.
