Morning... For all those who play video games on HD LCD's. I'm in the market for a 32" LCD HD. Doesn't have to have a built in HD-tuner because I will be getting a hd receiver from direct tv. However, this thing is going to be hooked up to either a 360 or ps3. What is the best bang for you buck out there? maximum i will spend is $1800
syntax is off brand but decent reviews from cnet. so is westinghouse. there is a westinghouse with 1080p and isn't that expensive. Fits ur budget.
I have 3 of the Westinhouse LCD monitors, two 37" and one 32", the 32" has a TV tuner the 37 does not. They are AMAZING, and pretty inexpensive. I highly recommend them. Oh, and you could get the 37" with $1500 or so at Best buy. DD
I think Best Buy is having a clearance sell on those 37" Westinghouse TVs. I think you can it for around $1200 (or even less), although this is one of those "YMMV" deals. You can read more about it here: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?p=2614938#post2614938

I've read good things about this sharp, but doesn't support 1080 http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Shar...47400/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
I've seen the sharp aquos line in real life, and it's AMAZING. I confused it with the quality of a plasma. Yes it is that beautiful.
I have a 26" Syntax LCD in my bedroom... it's great for a secondary/bedroom TV. It actually has a pretty good pic, but I don't think it would do well with gaming. Make sure you get one that won't drop artifacts right and left with the motion speed of video games. Be careful with Syntax and Westinghouses... there's a reason they're cheaper. They are pretty decent tv's, but often stink at video games or computer monitors. Here's a review I just found on a 27" Westinghouse on AVSForum.com (do your research there!) : ------------------------------------------------ I bought a Westinghouse 27" this week to use as a gaming monitor. I'm taking it back tomorrow. It does so many things great, but it does a few things that totally suck.... 1) Its bright...its super bright...in fact, its blindingly bright. So bright that you have to turn it down waaaaay low to use it as a desktop without getting eyestrain. Problem is, then you launch a game or try to watch a DVD or something, and its tooooooo dark. So you gotta fiddle with settings constantly. 2) Its contrast ratios are just plain weak. Playing Doom III and some Quake 4 revealed the dreaded low-contrast-itis. With so much dark area, the screen was mostly that dark LCD-Grey that looks like just a flat blob of texture. Hit the flashlight and everything unnaturally lightens up. Off the flashlight, and the little hints of detail you expect to see are washed away in the 600:1 contrast. 3) 1280x720 is the panels native rez...while thats fine for windows desktop...I have to admit, even at about 3 feet away I wanted to make my desktop run a little smaller on the icons and fonts...and that just wont happen. I was considering trying one of the better 27" Panels, like the Sharps or HP's...but I've decided that, in the end, I'll probaly just spend the money and get the Dell 24" widescreen.
