The attorney for three of the four men former Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker allegedly robbed was arrested Monday morning in conjunction with an alleged extortion attempt. William Dean was arrested in Florida, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He is a name partner at Ford, Dean & Rotundo and represents Julius Lamar, Tommy Hartshaw and Steven Compton — the three men who recanted statements against Baker last week. Dean and his clients demanded $1.5 million from Baker and negotiated the number down to $800,000 in order to change their statements, but no money ever changed hands, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Post. The sheriff’s office declined further comment during an ongoing investigation, but the source says they were involved in the set-up from the beginning. Baker, 23, is charged with four counts of robbery with a firearm and is facing a minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted. But Dean’s arrest could be the first step toward a dismissal of all charges, the source said. This allegation is unrelated to the accused payoff that happened earlier in the case involving Baker’s co-defendant, Seattle Seahawks safety Quinton Dunbar. Dunbar’s first lawyer, Michael Grieco, withdrew after a search warrant cited video footage, private social media messages and witness information that he bribed witnesses to change their stories. released Baker in September and he is a free agent. Regardless of the criminal outcome, Baker still could be subject to discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy, though Dunbar has played six games this season without penalty.
