Brandon was running for the president, he’s the president now. Pretty good call I’d say.

Even worse. And yes I think it sets a precedent for protests going forward to follow the Castle Doctrine, and you've got the right away to just start shooting.

Definitely think he was innocent and it was without a doubt self-defense, but glorifying Rittenhouse is just not smart. He made a lot of bad choices, and being that he was only 17, his mother should not be proud of his decisions and her upbringing of him. He is no hero.

To me, lessons that should be learned but likely won't be:

    1) Government cannot allow protests to move anything beyond peaceful or bad **** happens. Allow protests, but you must crack down hard on looting, arson, violent protests, etc to prevent worse stuff from happening.

    2) Trying to be an armed vigilante is generally a bad idea. To me, this case was clearly self-defense and he was still charged and came dangerously close to spending many years in prison. He is lucky there was actual good video proving self defense or he likely would have been screwed.

    3) Participate in riots and do stupid stuff like attacking said armed vigilantes can lead to some really bad things happening to you.

None of this would have happened had the Mayor and Governor did their jobs and sent in the police/nat guard when things got nasty.

When you abandon the people, don't act surprised when the people take justice into their own hands. The fact the state went through all this effort to convict him for doing the job they refused to do is evidence of a failed state, not a functioning justice system.

I mean...I think you halfway got it right. There likely won't be riots because I think most people will come to the conclusion that the Jury was correct here. People need to understand the twitterverse isn't representative of the actual world.

Not sure what race has to do with it. It seems you're projecting a bit here, everyone knows the race of Kyle and the people he killed and they still had the same reactions...almost as if they are angry about other things outside of race? I feel like most liberals are just worried more about future people bringing guns to protests and the violence it might cause.

The healthy and right minded people of America won big today. The other disturbed and tattered mind folks, there is always next time.

I doubt it because there aren't riots anytime a black person is killed by a white person.

a person trying to render assistance during civil unrest is not a vigilante

    self-defense is not vigilantism

The correct result. Textbook self-defense case and it's absurd this even went to trial in the first place. How the media sensationalized this is equally absurd. Most absurd is how media and leftists tried to tie in race.

Common sense and rational thought finally prevailed for a change.

Now he's gonna sue all the major media outlets that called him a white supremacist and secure a very large bag like that Maga hat kid.
