Is anyone going opening weekend? All the Houston newscasts have been pimping it. It's supposed to be the largest casino in Louisiana and built for Texans (money).
I tried to get rezzies there but looks like the place is booked for months on end. Looks nice, but don't anyone compare it to Vegas or even Beau Rivage. It's not a bad drive from Houston - about 2 solid hours.
I never go to Louisiana casinos. They don't have my favorite gambling pastime....betting on sports in the sports books.
No kidding. Two and half years ago, me and some buddies went to Lake Charles the day before New Year's Eve. It was a Monday night and we kept seeing these billboards every 10 miles advertising Harrah's new sports room. So, of course, we thought we'd be able to bet on the MNF game that night in addition to the bowl games. Nope. It was simply a section of their tables with pennants and junk along with the dealers wearing jerseys. We were bummed. Still won $400 though.
I've never spent the night at a Louisiana casino. I try to get the hell outta there before sunset. I guess I did stay up all night at Harrah's New Orleans.
Beau Rivage is nice. Even if they did kill all those Magnolias. Still, a two hour drive to a decent casino will be attractive.
I just talked to my brother, who decided to call L'Auberge Du Lac for fun to see if he could get a room. He got one for next weekend, although their website shows them being booked for months. Needless to say, instead of going to Coushatta this weekend, we'll be heading to L'Auberge Du Lac next week.
I was watching the news (channel 13) and the reporter said they offer all types of table games but the exception of...Texas Hold Em thats no fun
You are welcome. I would guess the lack of a poker room at Du Lac could only be attributed to sheer stupidity.
