ummm... I don't know how correct this is, but: ab is just a preposition, it can mean to, by, because, from, it's used in counting, and is used in connection to/with regard to... take your pick. It's all about context. initio means something like infinite, or enlessness, eternity.... you get the picture animus is soul, bravery, courage damnum is damage or loss absque is without I'm assuming that injuria is close to injurius which means acting wrongfully, or unlawfully
It's been about 12 years, but isn't "ab" the ablative preposition, and therefore "by, with or from" (generally speaking)? I seem to recall that "ad" is the dative preposition, and therefore "to or for". I could be wrong though.
BAH!!! FAT thought he was HELPING MULDER Well....this Tahrnalator doesnt work like DUKE thought. HIS LWAYER mind fells SAD. I WILL KEEP LOOKING FOR MULDER THOUGH!
I have condensed some of these ... Ab initio - Lat. From the beginning; from the first act, entirely; as to all the acts done; in the inception. ... Animus - Lat. Mind; intention; disposition; design, will. Damnum absque injuria - Loss, hurt or harm without injury in the legal sense, that is, without such breach of duty as is redressable by an action. A loss which does not give rise to an action for damages against the person causing it. ....
thanks homey... Here's my new favorite, really helpful for all the state workers out there... Don't blame me, I'm just performing a ministerial act!
