Can someone explain to me why Artest took that shot instead of Brooks?

Because he's Ron Freakin' Artest, that's why.

Brooks scored 11 pts in 27 seconds. The kid has ice in his veins.

Unfortunately, he also let the game slip away with two boneheaded plays right before that.

With that kind of speed and release, he can be a deadly scorer when he isn't holding back.

If he can just shore up a little bit of his weaknesses, he can be a valuable player for this team, even if it's coming off the bench. He doesn't need to become an all-world playmaker, just improve his decision-making. His defense will always be a weakness but he does have enough quickness to where he should be able to improve a little on that end.

Brooks was double-teamed BEFORE he even touches the ball...

The game was pretty much over at that point anyway.
