    rudan and I have found common ground.

    I think von Trier has wrongly been labeled an artist by some.

    To me he's just a sick, hateful pup who would not recognize narrative if it slapped him upside the head (which it often does).

    I can't comment much on his movies; only seen one or two and its not exactly my taste.

    But he had this mini TV series he did called The Kingdom back in the mid 90s that I remember being really good. It was remade subsequently in the US as Kingdom Hospital by Stephen King.

    You know, that's a good point. The reason I've seen many of his movies is that I really thought the Kingdom (his version) was clever, funny, and creative. I've just been disappointed since that show I guess.
