This is no-brainer question, Cavs just has too many uncertainies, nobody can be sure to succeed there. Labron James is a unknown next season, even he is a great player, Cavs still can't turn around. On the other hand, Houston already has a backbone to be success, if Larry is smart enough (like Zen Master), he will choose Rockets in no time.
he will, think i like what one poster said, i can't remember who now. Rudy resigned earlier than expected because it leaked to the media. Larry Brown resigned earlier due to that so he could be in the running for the job. He wasn't supposed to meet with the philly owner until thursday i believe. Larry Brown is a smart guy and i'm sure if he wants a less stressful job he will come here. In cleveland i'm sure the constant losing will get to him.
Larry Brown is starting to rival Yao in terms of the # of renduntant threads that are started with him as the subject.
No kidding. I haven't really "weighed in," so I guess this thread is as good as any. If it's not Brown or Van Gundy it will almost definitely be Mike Dunleavy, so I think you can pretty much limit the discussion to those three. Van Gundy would be my first choice. Brown just seems too wishy-washy and Dunleavy seems like too much of a pushover.
To paraphrase Van Chancellor in his pursuit of Ukari Figgs: "Larry Brown has a few options, but the opportunity to ride the fire trucks only comes once in a blue moon." Meaning, Brown will have the option to coach many good/great players, but the opportunity to coach, potentially, the game's next ambassador is right here in Houston. University (Moon Lighting) Blue
Any of these coaches: Brown Van Gundy Dunleavy Would be enough to push us into the playoffs. It just depends on how you want to get in. Brown will bring in a more coherent offense, and won't take any crap from the PF position. Van Gundy will help with defense, causing our guards to work their asses off on both sides of the floor. Dunleavy is a players and GM's coach, so he can get on the good side of all his players.
