Now I get to configure a better laptop at a better price :p

    Dell Inspiron E1405
    My Components
    -Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
    -Genuine Windows Vista™ Business
    -14.1 inch WXGA+ UltraSharp™ TFT Display with TrueLife™(glossy)
    -1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
    -80GB Sata Hard Drive
    -8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    -Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    -Integrated Audio
-9-cell Primary Battery and 9-cell additional Lithium Ion Battery
    -65 Watt Spare AC Adapter
    -Dell Wireless 1390b/g (54Mbps)
-Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)

$1005, 100 less than I paid originally for a much worse configuration...

Thoughts? (I'm upgrading the RAM from newegg.com, costs me 115 bucks for the 2x1gb upgrade, and I can sell the 2x512 sticks maybe for...anything really...cost me less than buying it through dell ($150 upgrade, and I don't get to sell the extra set)

Have to wait an extra few days for my laptop, but I think I'm finally happy with the way it's set up.

Everything looks OK so far from what I see...everything points to dell's stupidity and linking the wrong accounts together.

Depending on your usage, I'd double the memory (which you are already doing) and go for a larger disk capacity.

I can wait on the larger disk. I have an external drive which I'll use at home for my media files, and that will probably be networked at somepoint anyway, so it won't matter.

The only thing I would worry about is the RAM. It shows that you are using both your dimm slots, so in order to upgrade, you have to pull the existing ram out. I would go with the smallest ram and buy the additional ram third party.
