I will mainly be using this laptop for internet browsing and maybe a little file sharing. I'll watch a DVD every now and again. I never imagined I could purchase a brand new Dell built laptop for under $500. I did have to fudge a bit and make up a company name during the checkout process since these laptops are marketed exclusively for small businesses, but I'm sure I'm not the first or the last to have done that.
Did you use any coupons or special codes? Dell usually has some decent promotion going on if you search on those deal sites. You can get a better deal using a code instead of just configuring it yourself to the cheapest specs.
doesn't look like he used a coup. base price w/o coup is 399 and with the processor he has, it bumped it to 430 not including other configs. i'm sure the member discount (using a fake company name) is what brought the price down. there's a coup that would have brought this one down another hundred at mrdealfinder.com. i just bought a dell notebook a few days ago, but they don't offer coups for the one i ordered... just random discounts. thanks for looking out though, miguel. i'm curious to know his shipping date. mine is 3-3-08. argh!
I just got off the phone with a friend who called me to thank me for reccomending this to him- he loves it. Excellent purchase.
man, i ordered the same thing except for the battery. i saw it first from deals2buy.com, but when I ordered it from Dell.com, the battery was changed from 4 to 6 cell which is much better. same amount i paid too. Same shipping date. 2/19.
Funny, I got a Vostra 1500 laptop yesterday for $399...I was going to post it but then the deal went away...I think I got a great deal...Free overnight shipping to boot...woohoo... This is the same exact deal that I bought last Dec and I returned it. Too slow and no software that come with the dvd writer.
This is exactly what steered me to Dell's small business website. I, under no circumstances, was going to purchase a laptop with Vista installed on it. I wonder how much longer Dell will build computers with XP installed.
