My previous laptop is damaged, because the motherboard no longer works, and I was looking for some cheap, but nice, I dont do anything special like: video making, photoshop or anything like that. So I found a laptop that is not expensive and it has the next characteristics: Acer Intel Celeron M 530 at 1.73 GHz 80GB hard disk 512 MB RAM Windows Vista Is a good computer? What is the difference between celeron and pentium, because the speed is high on this one, but I dont know if its better pentium
Celeron has less cache and lower front bus speed. And the one you are looking is a single core, where all the modern laptop all has duo core. If you wait and look for good deals, you outta do better than that one. I got my 1.6 ghz Centrino duo core laptop more than a year ago for 500 bucks, I'm sure it's way cheaper than that now.
david, my parents own a laptop repair shop called Vic's Computer Service that has been in business since the early 80's, its in Houston. They specialize in motherboard repairs for laptops, so if you are interested in just getting your old one fixed check out vicscanfix.com , its a lot cheaper than the manufacturer's repair price.
Hell no. That's a horrible computer, especially with Vista on it, which is a resource hog. 1. What is 'cheap'? A 'cheap' laptop to me is $1000. 2. Go to Dell's small business site. Buy a low-end Vostro with Windows XP. You can get by with buying less with XP. You can get these in the $500 price range.
No comment on a competitor. Get a dual core chip. To quote Will Smith, OH HEEEEEEELLLLLL NO. Using less than 1 GB of RAM with Vista is equal to masochism.
Ok, thanks for the advice, and yes I prefer Windows XP than Vista. I will look for one And nutcracker thanks for the advice, but I dont have a credit card, and I dont have a lot of money to afford all the shipping costs, from Mexico to Houston, but thanks anyways.
