My current is an ASUS UL30VT-A1 which is pretty small and light, runs an Intel 7300 (low power low voltage) processor. I really like my ASUS, and haven't had a bit of trouble in two years. The key requirement (and why I need the laptop) is I need either an integrated smart card reader or a 54mm ExpressCard slot to insert a smart card reader. Seems very few laptops, mostly focused at business users, have the slot. Lenovo, one of the newer Dells, Fujitsu (LifeBook) and ASUS. The Fujitsu looks a bit dated, and the Dell seems a bit flimsy. So I have narrowed down to the Lenovo and ASUS. The Lenovo seems rock solid. I have used T410s for work for years and they are bulletproof. The x220 is small, relatively light, and has a pretty long battery. Easy to upgrade. But it has an older keyboard design (I like the chiclet style now). And they are a bit more expensive, even with the i5. http://shop.lenovo.com/us/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/x220 I really like ASUS, it is all metal and has an i7, a new battery design that suppose to match the x220's in duration. Plus its a newer design. I really like the ASUS ZenBooks but I really need the ExpressCard slot, so this gets me close to UltraBook territory while still having expansion capabilities. http://www.asus.com/Commercial_Notebooks/B23_Series/B23E/#specifications So any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated!
