http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/07/05/report-knicks-revoke-langston-galloways-qualifying-offer Solid defender and can get to the basket. Slumped towards the end of the season, but you can attribute a lot of various factors to that.
He became UFA? I missed it! Yes he's a great fit! I hope we go and get him! He is good defender with potential to be a good 3pnt shooter.
Dont know much about him, but seeing that he's a decent defender... no thanks. He doesn't fit the "all offense, no defense" system
The knock on him last season was the fact that he started out sizzling from 3pt range but as teams started to key in on him he slumped. I don't think he'd have that issue in our offense.
FWIW, I think he may be staying with the Knicks. IIRC, his qualifying offer was pulled because it was higher than his free agent cap hold if he is unrestricted. By rescinding his qualifying offer, it opened up enough cap room to sign Brandon Jennings, but with the Knicks still retaining Early Bird rights on Galloway. Regardless, I'm probably not interested in Galloway at his price point.
I like his game. Not sure he'd work at point guard with most teams, he's more of an undersized 2, but with Harden and Gordon both able to handle the ball and both in need of being shunted to easy defensive assignments, I think Houston would be a good spot for Galloway and they could get away with playing him in a similar role as Beverley.
If he's willing to come play for relatively cheap, I'd be on board. But I'm talking like $5 million per year or less. Otherwise, I think there are other places they could better use that remaining cap room.
