Langhi does look like he's put on a few pounds of muscle--especially on the front page today.

The way Langhi is playing in the summer leagues, I'd go off on a limb and say that he might end up being our starter at the beginning of next season.

Man, the guys can seriously play. Zone or no zone, a shooter with his athleticism is always welcomed!!!

I remember Murph interviewing Langhi last season and Langhi saying that the Rockets trainers have him "in the weight room an extra 3-4 sessions a week" and "drinking a lot of protein shakes".

Glad to see its paying off.

Kenny Thomas should look out. First he is 6-8/9 and playing small, getting is shots blocked all the time. He has also shown an interest to go out to the 3pt line. Probably it is best that they start using him as a SF. He would probably do better offensively. However, more importantly, it will give Griffin some minutes at the 4. I am projecting 30 mins a game for Griff with about 5 being at PF.

If Langhi can play as good as he's been playing in a normal regular or playoff NBA game, the Rockets might have made the steal of last years draft from the Dallas Mavericks.

This gives the Rockets so many more options. Insert Langhi as the backup to Mobley about 5 to 10 minutes a game. And have him play SF for 15 to 20 minutes a game. And possibly move him to PF in a small line up for maybe 2 to 5 minutes a game.

Langhi, candidate for 6th man of the year? Definatley next year!!

Kenny Thomas is a very stout 6'7". I like KT but he may be the odd man out in a year or two. Maybe sooner.

If Langhi continues to bulk up over the next year or 2 could we possible see him logging some considerable minutes at the 4 spot????

Yea, let's write Langhi into the starting lineup after 2 good games against mediocre competition.

t.p.l.: I think its highly likely that this trend will continue for the next several games as well as the regular season, so let's not be negative, mmkay?

    Yes,

Let's put Griffin in the starting lineup right away, because clearly he will be better against GOOD competition, because right now, he is one of the mediocre players that TPL is talking about.

If I judged players by these summer leagues games, then I would be gearing up for the Bo Outlaw/Donnell Harvey era in the NBA, since their numbers are UNDOUBTEDLY just a taste of things to come from these offensive juggernauts [IMG]

Also, and this may be surprising to some, Sean Colson, Saul Smith, and Moo Moo are not the passing phenoms they may have appeared to be during their highly acclaimed college careers.

I never expected Griffin to create or force up a shot, so his offensive struggles are not surprising to me, especially given the guards he's playing with.

I'm Langhi's biggest fan, though I enjoy making fun of him from time to time since it's so damn hard not to, and I hope he can carry his summer league success over into the regular season. I've learned not to make much out of his performances in these leagues though, because after his showing at the review last year, I was SURE he'd be getting 15 minutes a game and be a rotation player.

Hopefully Rudy gives Dan consistent minutes next year, because as a shooter, it's hard as hell to just come in and knock down shots after sitting on your ass for the last hour and a half.

I totally agree with you on that post.

Rudy is a bit too loyal sometimes. Langhi should have been playing more last year.

He lost confidence and valuable time needed to get used to the speed of the NBA game.

I think Langhi can play a very valuable role, but he needs to play to get there.

First a question....is it just me or has Langhi put on some weight since last year...I have only gotten to look at the pics from the summer league (thanks Big E and satlle) but he looks a little bigger.....second I am very happy with eddie's play and here is why

-He seems to have a good attitude
    -He isn't Cato
    -Great rebounding and shot blocking!!!!!
-and I think he will shoot better later in the year when he is not so nervous.
-I also think that Stevie will give up the ball to him in a much better position than colson is doing

I see Griffin giving us the same thing we used to get from Horry in the championship years....great weak side shot blocking and hustle...along with a good outside shot however....

I think this is just the begining for him....remember he is only 19!!!!! he is going to be a great player in this league...his scoring will only get better and you can't teach the shot blocking skills this man has....he will be an all-star for years and will make the All defensive team multiple years...what a future!!!!!!

I've said something similar in another post, but do some of you remember Dreams's first season? I do. He was this skinny 6-11 jumping beanpole with such raw skill and unlimited potential back then. He was greatly know for his uncanny shot-blocking ability and defense. Offense was not quite his forte....Thinking about that time, I can't help but think of Eddie as mini-Dream, except I believe Eddie has even greater skill and potential. No doubt at 19 he will only get better, but I really think this kid will surprise people concerning how well he will be in the coming season and seasons to come! [IMG]

Dan didn't get the mins last year, but that may have just made him work harder this year. Sometimes adversity is the best medicine...it tells us...

    - How bad he wants it
    - What he'll sacrifice to get it

Dan's adding muscle and better play have answered those questions. However, we have two games of proof, we need a consistent string of summer games and a good camp to solidify in RT mind that Dan deserves more PT.

Whether his hard work translates into success during the "real" season we'll just have to wait and see. I'm very encouraged by his play and the SG-experiment. Langhi may become our sixth man, but let's give him a chance to grow into that role.
