About time, now UT has some competition in the courting out Nick down there in Tuscaloosa. http://www.usctrojans.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092913aaa.html
No surprise really, he's never done anything to deserve the high profile jobs and attention he has received except maybe the first one. What the hell makes you think Saban would leave Bama for USC or Texas or leave period? He's established a dynasty in the best conference (although some have called PAC-12 the best this season), Bama has as much history as both those programs, he'd probably get any raise in order to keep him there, he already has it built with strong recruiting classes continuing to come in and so on and so on. I mean, why exactly would he leave?
Very true. Usc and Texas have the deepest pockets in college football...Saban could problaby get 10 mil a year easily if the Tide win another championship. If they also win another ship Saban could also be considered the best college football coach of all time.
Agree on him being overrated. Never really did much of anything to justify getting the USC job. I remember him leaving Tennessee like a douche. I looked at his Wiki page and found this. Douchebag.
Never deserved the job in the first place. Glad he's now fired, and I hope he gets knocked down to a D2 school.
I felt a little sorry for Kiffin when the Raiders tried to push him out the door, but when he stabbed (the other) UT in the back, his true character was revealed to everyone. Obviously the right move for USC.

How about his track record???? He left Michigan State after 4 years, LSU after 5 years, and Miami after 2 years. Dude is a shifty snaky son of a b**** and Texas and USC are 2 of the wealthiest programs in the nation and can throw much more money at Saban than Bama can (especially Texas w/ the revenue from the Longhorn Network)
Why did he ever leave LSU? Money and new challenges. I don't think he leaves Bama unless he decides to give the NFL a 2nd try.
Coaches leave other conferences for the SEC and NFL, the pinnacles of football that most coaches would like to try, given the chance. He is tremendously successful there and I'm willing to bet that Bama can find a way to match money offered from any other institution, especially given his success there. He's got a strong foundation in place and an ongoing dynasty. I think Saban leaving Bama for Texas or USC is wishful thinking by fans of those institutions and nothing more.
Pulled off the bus and fired in the parking lot? That's awesome. Kiffin to busdriver: Wait just a minute... AD to busdriver: Nah, you can go ahead. Kiffin to AD: But my car's back at the school AD: Take a cab Classless ending for a classless coach.
damn, he was a bad coach but people are really piling on

To recap, Lane Kiffin pulled of team bus outside LAX private terminal and fired. The hot coaches are obviously Chris Peterson (Boise St) , Charlie Strong (L'ville). It is only a matter of time before Strong gets a chance at a "better" program.
