When Landry was drafted by Rox, he was introduced as a small-size PF and his height is only 6'7. And then, as he played better and became Adelman's rotation player, his height turned to be 6'8. That's OK. I thought that's because he's measured wearing his shoes. And this time, his height became 6'9!!! As we know, he's almost 25. Has he really become taller since he was drafted last summer ???
Landry was measured by the Rockets as 6-8 3/4" in shoes when they drafted him. I doubt he's grown taller... Carl will be 25 years old later this year.
So he is about 6' 7" without them? Let's hope he keeps those amazing hops for several years! On another note, isn't Scola's height measured without shoes at 6' 9"? If true, he's easily 6' 10" with them.
So Landry's a rookie but he's almost three years older than Gerald Green who's been in the league for three years. We need to keep this kid in our back pocket.
Even that's true, I do not think the data around nba players are believable. Another unbelievable data is Novak's date of birth. When he first came to Houston, his DOB is 1984. But now we can find his DOB in Rockets Roster that it became 1983. Why data managers like to alter those data???
I had great seats at a game earlier this season. I saw Battier, Tmac and Landry all standing side by side. Landry was at least as tall as both of them (who appeared to be the exact same height) but appeared slightly taller by maybe an inch.
He did just say on the pre-game that he picked up 4 inches on his vertical working with the strength and conditioning coaches. That would raise him up to 40.5?! http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/ That is kinda like growing taller right?
That ain't from some NBA database. Clutch has actually spoken to Rockets staff. This is from the Rockets, people who did physical measurements not read something off an internet profile by Perdue that hasn't been updated for 4 years.
He stayed in college for 5 years because of his leg injury (was allowed to be redshirted because of it), so he's getting a late start on his NBA career. That's why he's as old as some 2nd and 3rd year NBA players.
I've met both Scola and Landry in person. Scola is def like 2 inches taller than Landry. I can't judge heights but I'd say the 6'7 on Landry and 6'9 on Scola seemed accurate in standing next to both guys...Scola seemed a lot bigger
