1 to 3 weeks was the original estimate. I'd expect him to be back either next Sunday for Portland, or the following game against Orlando. That means no Landry for the two road games this week.
According to Jonathan Feigen @ the Chron: "As for Carl, he went home for the funeral of a family member. He has been off crutches since just a day or two after the shooting. He is scheduled to return to Houston Monday and I'm sure the team will catch up with him on his condition then."
I know it was a flesh womb but this does seem kind of quick. I think its a mistake to rush him back so fast.
I dont think he will be back then, but they will assess his conditioning, to see where he stands. It could be a few days to a week after that.
Oh ok. That would be the smart thing to do. Maybe they should target Sunday when we play Portland or the next game after that when Rafer returns to Toyota Center.
A flesh womb? ...you mean wound I suppose. Getting shot is no joke, even if it's a "flesh wound." Landry will come back when he says he is ready and no sooner than that. I don't believe we are in a hurry and I want a rowdy Landry out there playing and not a limping, huffing-and-puffing one (from sitting out and taking care of that leg). We always see the overall negative effect of hurt players being forced to play. Think T-Mac, although I think he wasn't completely there mentally, and more importantly think Wade and the Heat last year. We just don't want anymore of that.
Is it a legit question to ponder where his head will be at when he does get back? Cause that's playing on my mind.
Whatever surgery he had was minor -- just stitches and cleaning up, probably. I'd guess his head will still be right up there at the top of his neck. The REAL question is whether the surgeons who worked on T-Mac were able to remove HIS head from his ass.
Raheel just posted that Carl stretched and did shoot around with the team today. No time table on his return yet.
Yep, heard a brief audio snippet on 610 driving back from lunch. Rick Adelman said Carl was his normal self, smiling and having fun; also got some ribbing from his team mates. Great news.
