http://www.nba.com/rookies/rankings.html Unbelievable. Scola is there but Landry definitly deserves to be in the top 10.
Thorpe says he loves Landry in his chats ... but I guess he's looking at the season as a whole. If Landry keeps it up, I expect him to break into the top 10 in his next update.
they must not because landry is playing out of his mind as of late. and he is much more efficient than most of the top 10. im sure he will but up there in the next 2 weeks based on his new role.
I would say if Landry keeps playing solid and Scola does as well by the end of it all they could both be in the top five. Right now the only thing hurting Landry's ranking is minutes. The more he gets the higher he will rise.
If you like him so much and want the ROX to afford to sign him in the summer, then that is a very good thing that he is not listed on the top 10.
48 minutes, Landry 2nd in scoring, 1st in rebounding (Fesenko of Utah is better but only played handful minutes), 1st in FG%, 1st in eff. http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball/fantasy/nba/playerstats/08/7/reb/1-3
I've been paying attention to this for the last two months (since he got playing time). They always have guys who either average less or average same with a full 5-10 minutes extra. Plus no one shoots his percentage. It comes down to one thing. They don't put much time and effort into it and won't drastically change the rankings. They go by the big names they heard from draft time and alter the list a spot here and there each time. Landry stated so low he takes way too much time to get to the top 10 because "experts" don't spend a lot of time on rookie rankings after the intial list. Its like people in college basketball polls. They make their list and will change very little from here or there unless a team losses a lot. Purdue led the Big Ten for a month start didn't lose that whole time and still just got in the rankings two weeks ago.
He's getting there. Another couple of strong weeks and he'll be in top 10. And Scola is now our go-to guy in the post. If the Rockets make the playoffs, Mr. Scola is my ROY.
Oh come on. The guy was picked in the second round. He only cracked the rotation, what, a month or two ago? And he's ranked 13. That's no snub. Quit looking for snubs that aren't there. Hell, he's currently ranked right under Yi and right above Big Baby (who, along with Josh McRoberts, most of us wanted to pick instead of Landry). If I told you before the season that Landry would be sandwiched between those guys in the rookie ratings, I sincerely doubt you'd have had any problem with it. Lighten up. He's climbing the ladder, and with Yao out, I suspect he'll get a whole lot more time. If he continues what he's doing, he may well climb into the top 5 before the season is over.
