Around 9am this morning Lance Z. mentioned ClutchCity.Net over and over again and gave props to all the members who scour the net for articles on the Rockets.

He also gave out Clutch's full name, which I'd never heard before.

    That's all for now, I'm going to Wendy's..... ;)

I think props to CC.net is about the only off-topic post allowed in any forum. :D

Man, this sucks though... the server's going to get bombarded by new people now. They'll bring it to a craaaaaaaawl.

Oh well, the more the merrier! Congrats Clutch & Jeff!

Anyone hear me on 610 yesterday (Tuesday)? I called in around 7.15 to John and Russ (Lance was off) to correct them on a statement they had made about not being able to pay Francis the max when he becomes a free agent. Funny think was I called and was on the air in less than 2 minutes.

Lance is really a great guy. He has always plugged the hell out of cc.net.

Everybody, send him an email saying thanks at lancez@ev1.net

Mike in Dairy Ashford....or is it Johnny on the SW side? Since we're completely off topic, I absolutely have to turn the station when Johnny calls.

I remember when Charlie first joined Rich in the afternoons and Johnny called. Charlie said, "This is a joke, right?" Classic. And Rich said, "No, Johnny is our friend."

For those who don't know, Johnny is the absolute slowest talker whose favorite subject is local area high school football players.

    It's excruciating....

I'm so glad to hear someone else say that about Johnny. This guy literally pisses me off!!! I also turn the station when he calls. EVERYTIME!!! It makes my skin crawl to hear his slow drawn out twang. It gives Texans a bad rap. The guy has got to be about 90 and I can actually feel myself aging when he talks. I wish he'd call in the morning so Lance can work him over.

Sorry to get so far off topic but had to get that off my chest.

    Lance Z rules!!!

Lance must also have "ulterior motives", as does the Crew.

Jeff: has the water been properly fluoridated yet?

I am off to line my cap with tinfoil so as to "foil" (HA HA HA) the IRS. They're watching.

If I remember correctly... Rich's comment that "Johnny is our friend'" is another way of saying "Johnny has a bellyful of paint chips." Why else would one discuss little boy football at-length in a major market? Leave that for Amarillo sports talk or some 500-watt station in New Ulm.

I guess this prompts the question:

What is more pathetic, Johnny, the guy who calls 610 to talk high school football or the internet geeks who complain about Johnny, the guy who calls 610 to talk high school football, on the ClutchCity.net BBS?

    :D :D :D
    :p :p :p

Since we are already off-topic :)

Anyone else dislike the "format tweak" as much as I do?

Matt and Jeremy weren't perfect, but are infinitely more
entertaining (and relevant) than "The Sports Junkies."

The morning show (despite LanceZ's props to CC.net), always had some trouble staying on-topic, and now might as well be Stevens and Pruett some mornings.

I fear that Rich and Charlie's positions might be in trouble for not doing enough of the "guy talk."

Here's hoping somebody picks up the Sportstalk banner in this town. Surely some Spanish-language station with a rating less than 1 would want the bigger audience.

Anyway, bringing this rant back around to something that belongs here:

Any word on Rudy T's show for this year? Is KPRC doing one-offs with it like they did for the second half of last year? I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing the games (and the associated programming) go back to KTRH (since they are all one big happy family now), but doubt that is in the cards.

EDC: You must have missed the big discussion in the BBS Hangout about how bad the new format is. :)

Anyone else surprised that anyone would think the Rockets wouldn't be able to pay Francis the max?

If I wanted to listen to guys talking about "getting hammered" and "dildos" and how everyone is a "donkey" ... I would probably shoot myself...damn people that SPORTS JUNKIES show is HORRIBLE.....

they don't even really talk sports (unless its redskins), they talk about beer and "tapping" famous celebrities...god, its just stupid.

THERE HAS TO BE AWAY WE CAN BRING MAT AND FOSTER BACK!!!

I know I don't listen to 610 anymore during that time period...

    god it makes me angry
