Jayden Odom died Wednesday night, apparently suffocating while sleeping in his crib in New York, according to John Black. "Lamar is very distraught," Black said. "Both he and the baby's mother are asking that people respect their privacy at this time." Jayden was born Dec. 15. Odom has two older children -- a son and a daughter. The 26-year-old Odom came to the Lakers two years ago in the trade that sent Shaquille O'Neal to the Miami Heat. Odom averaged 14.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 80 games for the Lakers last season and 19.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists in their first-round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns. Kind of puts things in perspective...be strong Lamar.
Wow I thought i never would feel sad for a laker but this is really sad. My wishes go ou to Odom and his family
I have a 5 and 1/2 month old, and this story hits me much differently that these kind of things used to. When I didn't have a son, I knew these types of situations were tragic and sad, but now, it gives me a sick feeling just to read it.
....you want recognition for knowing Lamar Odom's baby died... classy guy. Poor Lamar. It's gonna be a tough offseason for him and his family. Too bad he's not on his way here post-trade.
I wouldn't call that SIDS. Just unfortunate and happens more often than one would think. Prayers for Lamar.
thats not something you say in this kind of situation....i'd be more impressed if you said we'd trade gay and stro for battier before the draft started.... RIP baby odom
