    Lakers 77
    Rockets 102

No Yao. A lot of Mutombo.

    Mutombo came up huge: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=270110010

    Deke's line: 7 pts, 19 reb and 5 blocks

To be fair, the Lakers didn't have Odom or Gasol and Bynum was not the same force then that he was during the early part of this season.

However, Bynum did have a strong performance that night. Deke was just better. He dominated the paint for over 30 minutes until the win was a foregone conclusion.

Assuming Battier covers Bryant this Sunday and McGrady covers Odom, we will need another huge performance out of Deke. This time, however, instead of Bynum, his challenge will be the slightly quicker and much more experienced Pau Gasol.

Will Mutombo get the job done once again? That is to be determined on Sunday.

Note: Yes, I am the same bum that created the infamous "Playoffs? No way!" thread. Obviously, I was wrong. Move on.

Look at the Lakers past 20 games and see how laughable their praise is...we can and will beat them!

This game won't even be close....we'll win by over 10 pts. The Celtics are a tougher challenge and will even be a bigger game if both our streaks are still intact.

    i was there.... good times....

this game was also Luther's dunk over Turiaf

the only thing close that wouldve been sweeter than this game was the game the month before where the Rockets almost came back 20 down with Head/Novak/Padgett/JL3/Hayes

    See my edit.

I figure this is a good time to acknowledge my stupidity.

Yeh, the Lakers are a good offensive team, but their defense is not that good. What I noticed about our streak is that we haven't really played teams who play great defense. I wonder if we can score against teams like those without Yao. The Celtics game is the one I want to see if our offense can still find the openings and shots against a team who plays stingy defense.

Heh, don't worry about that. It has nothing to do with it.

Edit: Just in case, I still have doubts about us making the playoffs.

Im worried about the Rockets getting tensed up because the streak is getting ridiculous now. All the media hoopla. I think it effected them in todays game against the Hawks. We cant overlook the Bobcats either since Jason Richardson can go crazy at any time.

I think you should make it as your sig. :D

Back to your posts, good to see you come out of the dark side for some optimism. We didnt have Tmac for most of that game either.
