Lakers are creaming the Hornets right now, 46-22 in the 2Q. New Orleans looked horrible against the Jazz on Tuesday. Could they be imploding with the playoffs nearing?
I don't think the Hornets are imploding but a 49-22 deficit makes you wonder. They are playing defense like the Warriors. It's like a scrimmage for the Lakers so far.
Chandler and Paul have 2 fouls already. Hornets only have 5 rebounds and are shooting 40% to LA's 50% Lamar Odom almost a double-double already. LA is scary when Odom plays aggressive like this.
NO is going to wilt under the pressure in the playoffs. They don't really have anyone that is tried and true in the playoffs. I know we have a bunch of first round losers on our squad but at least they have made it that far. We also have Jackson and Scola.
Hornets are easy to stop. Hornets only have 3 plays: CP3 pick n roll, CP3 drive n kick, & transition baskets. Stop CP3 and the bees are done. Jazz easily kicked Hornets behind by keeping CP3 out of the middle, clog the paint and run out to shooters. Lakers are doing exactly the same.
A win by the Lakers puts them in 2nd place (1/2 game out of first) and the Spurs and Rockets 1 game back of New Orleans.
if the nba is this close in the next few seasons i think they will start picking up more and more viewers. we will see
Chris Paul is just amazing. 3 steals and 3 assists less than 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Lead cut to 10.
at what point do the lakers stop running the lamar odom jump shooting offense? because it's not exactly working. i knew when they showed a highlight on espn with the lakers up 28 and then showed they were only up 20 at half that if i started watching the hornets would make a game of it. i didn't think the lakers would collapse so much and just give it to the hornets but the lead was just too big. and i'm not sure how paul just got a T. his team is scoring all the points and didn't seem to get any bad calls.
