http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=6080446 LOS ANGELES -- A day after Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said he would consider a trade amid the team's recent struggles, Magic Johnson said on Tuesday the Lakers need to make a deal to improve a team he believes isn't good enough to win a championship. rest of the story is in the link . Let me guess... David Stern is thinking "alright folks we need to send Howard,CP3,Melo to L.A to keep them in the NBA finals for the next five years".
I agree with Johnson and have been feeling that way for a long time now. The Lakers are still a good team (obviously), but there's no reason to believe they're good enough to win a championship. They've been dropping games this year that, even IF they were coasting, they still should've been able to win. Something isn't clicking for the Lakers this year, and another miraculous line-shift on the fly would probably spark them back up to where they want to be. Let me guess, Ebanks, Caracter and cash for Melo.

Day by Day NBA continues to show that honestly there are only 4-6 teams that have a legit shot at a title . If teams continue to have 3/4 superstars down the line , you can count out rest of the possible 26 teams from contention.
That Hornets deal looks actually possible. I think that something major is going to happen mostly involving the rookies, blake, walton (maybe bynum) I would say Artest. The only two bench players producing are Barnes (injured) and odom. Fisher stays because i mean they need the typical "heroics" of fisher. I wouldn't be suprised if a trade to Nuggets wasn't made. CP3 and Howard will walk over to the LakeLand in 2012 anyway. Kobe is a cunning friend to those two.
did you photo shop the screen shot? because in your picture it says hornets have +2, but in the link it says -13
I noticed that too. When I took the screenshot it said +2 and now when I click on the link it says +2 also. The trade machine changed its mind lol.
I posted this last night in the trade ideas thread. Could we live with this trade? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6hq5lja Starting 5 of: Billups Martin Battier Scola Nene With bench of: Lowry/Smith Lee/Williams Budinger Hayes/Patterson Miller/Hill
I said earlier in the season they needed to make a trade to shake up the team. Something that would really catch the attention of the remaining players. The only 4 safe guys are Kobe, Pau, Bynum and Odom. Probably Fisher too. Don't know if anyone would take Artest off their hands. Steve Blake clearly isn't what they need. The problem is the rest of the players on the roster are worth a bag of potato chips put together. Either way, the Lakers need a jolt because their team as presently constructed may not measure up. It won't be a mega-deal for Melo or CP3. The NBA won't trade CP3 to the Lakers under any circumstances, especially with the Hornets currently sitting as the 5th seed with a better-than-expected record.
