I first want to say that I went to LG.net (a great site by the way) and about a month ago one of their fans posted a link to a Clutch BBS thread saying "would you trade Yao for Shaq". Many Rockets fans said no, and the Lakers created their own thread to laugh at our expense.

well now they are talking about wanting Yao to be a Laker in five years. and a few of those fans actually think that wil happen. Time to laugh back.

BTW, I am JBIIRockets over there also, and I tried to set them back to reality.

It's not out of the realm of possibilities. If things don't work out in Houston for Ming then LA is a place he could end up. Remember how he said he was in awe when he played in LA with all of the championship banners and retired jerseys hanging in the rafters.

That being said it seems that Ming likes it here and likes Rudy. He also is loyal so unless a catastrophe happens he should be a Rocket for life.

I'm still laughing at people saying no on a trade for Shaq. It doesn't mean Yao's not a good player, it means Shaq is better and proven.

Shaq probably only has 3-4 years left to play. Ming has about 12-15.

Lakers fans only want people who are doing something now....if Yao was to go 2-18 over the next two games, they'd say that they'd rather have Samaki Walker over him anyday. It's nice to know that their run ends this season.

Why do you think it's not possible?

    GO Kobe, Go Lakers.

By the time Mings's rookie contract expires, he and the Rockets would have won two rings already. Why would he leave?

Yeah...who thought that Shaq was going to end up in LA after his orlando days? Shaq and Penny was supposed to be the next jordan/pippen duo. Francis/Yao isn't forever either. Let's hope nothing happens to break up the team but I'm just saying that nothing is permanent.

The Lakers just grab players from other teams when they are good. They don't build anything. That's just how they do things in LA. They think being LA is enough to lure great players. Yao Ming is not going to be one being lured!

Kobe Rules:- We know you are not a Rockets Fan and you should not try anything to grab our Star Center, Yao Ming. You have a nerve to suggest that he should leave to go to LA! Who are you? You have no birthday and no location.

Easy, you are right! That's how they do it in LA.

Players are lured by big time dreams of Hollywood.

They wisper into players ears and say,
"Come to LA, you'll be a star! You'll be richer
than ever, and you have tons of women!"

Well, Yao is NOT like that. And Yao is an honorable
man. He knows the importance of loyalty.

    It's all about the ying-and-yang. :D

Remember Yao. Don't leave. It's bad karma!

    It's possible, not probable.

    Shaq = instant contention.

Yao = future project, hopeful contention.

    Mobley/KT for Shaq/Kobe

I heard that since the Lakers aren't playing very well, they should get Mobley, who as we all know is the greatest scorer in the history of the game, on and off the court.

Sure they lured Shaq and Rick Fox, but they traded proven talent for Horry and Kobe. Jerry drafted Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, and Vlade Divac, the former core who each earns at least 10 million a year (they're worth that much to some sucker team...). Derrick Fisher, who now starts at PG, was drafted as well.

That was when Jerry West was running the operation. I have nothing to say about Mitch Kupchak...
