How about Ginobilli in that game? Talk about stepping up. That guy needs his own team.

Despite losing in double overtime tonight, the Spurs proved they know what it takes to win tough games. If Duncan and Parker had played, the Lakers would be 4-1 right now. I wish the Rockets had some of that pressure-play experience for the upcoming playoffs (assuming we don't collapse again).

I'm psyched to play Dallas on Thursday. I don't know how bad Nash is off right now, but I hope he plays... I'm eager to see us square off against some full-strength contenders.

It was proven that the Lakers are beatable this year, but you're going to have to play like your brain is on fire.

If I remember correctly, Manu missed AT LEAST one shot each at the end of regular time, at the end of 1st OT, and at the end of 2nd OT.

We lost the battle, yet not the war. :)

A moral victory to the rest of the league that as long you play with hustle, effort, and heart, these HOF's ain't that scary.

Are you Zhao Jian Hua himself ? ;)

About that Olympic, if only my partner wasn't semi injured, i should have won the GOLD over Park Joo Bong-Kim Moon Soo !!

Why, Zhao, still feel a bit sore over that lost to Ardy Wiranata backthen -that smacked your gold medal dream ?? :p

    Hi gunawanspurs,
Park Joo Bong was/is the god of doubles. He deserved every bit of the gold medal, regardless of your partner's condition. Hard to argue with that.

Sorry, I'm not Zhao Jian Hua. And I don't think I remember who is Arby Wiranata. Was he the guy who smashes at every high ball opportunity?

But coincidently, I do know Ji XinPeng.

I was rooting for Lakers. Nice to have both Mavs and Spurs losing. Now we have a two-game cushion on them both hehehehe......

I'll post this somewhere where it's on topic:

For all practical purposes, the Lakers just got their asses handed to them.

They truly should be ashamed of themselves... They have NO defense whatsoever. They look like they don't even care. I think they already think they have it locked up. So they give up 107 points to the BUCKS and 117 to the Spurs who already have enough trouble getting big offensive numbers even with Parker and Duncan in the lineup. Terrible...

The Lakers are still the best team in the league right now, but they are also the least respectable.

Still, right now I'd be damn proud if I was a Spurs fan. That was a hell of a game. The Spurs outplayed the Lakers - they just didn't outscore them... if that makes any sense.

Spurs played well, but Lakers defense totally sucks. They looked scary in the first game against Dallas. But it turned out to be a fluke. Dallas just sucks right now. In fact, all the teams Lakers beaten so far (Bucks, Suns, Warriors), are in bad shape. They certainly look vulnerable. With the way Rockets play defense, Rockets can certainly beat them. Too bad we won't find out until Xmas.

THe reaction here is far too severe. For the most part, the Lakers defense was fine. The Spurs had a night like the Rockets did against the Bulls the other day - shots were falling that ordinarily would not. When that happens, there's really not too much the other team can do.

The Lakers were a bit too casual at times. But that's always going to happen when you underestimate an opponent. And while one would like to play one's hardest for every game... nobody actually does.

Were you watching the same game as me?

Their defense was FAR from fine. Sure, some crazy shots went in for the Spurs, but the Spurs got a LOT of wide open looks from all over the court, many of which they missed in the clutch for regulation, ultimately costing them the game.

They also hardly forced any TOs. Most of what the Spurs coughed up was just placed in the Lakers' lap.

And I remind you, this is the same team that gave up 107 to the Bucks...

Try using that to justify the Rockets play this season to some Steve-haters.

Anyways, they damn well better be 5-0 with the lineup they have... And a few of those wins have not come easy against subpar teams, such as tonight, that's what I'm saying.

And like I said, they are the best team in the league, but the least respectable to me. Kobe's situation, the Kobe/Shaq ordeal, their laziness, Payton's trashtalking, Malone's assholiness... You put it all together and what do you get? The culmination of all that it is to be hated by me.

The Lakers needed the refs to cheat for them to win:

    1) Fake "goaltending" call on Mercer at the end of the 3rd with .4 seconds left. On the replay it was CLEARLY a clean block (before it even touched glass and was still on the way up) but due to a stupid rule since there was .4 seconds on the clock the refs could not review it. 2 pts lakers to come within 2.

    2) Kobe bryant gets away with taking 3 HUGE steps in the 2nd overtime. Result, lakers keep possession. 2pts.

Take those two calls out and you get a 4 pt Spurs swing. I'm not saying the spurs would have still won, but you have to wonder what might have happened.

I swear malone intentionally falls on the court floor at least 35 times a game trying to get the refs' attention. I wish TNT could keep a Flop-O-Meter in the corner of the screen during these laker games.

The Spurs didn't have enough size to contend with the Lakers. They got abused at the board. They just kept giving away second, third chances to the Lakers.

Karl Malone is the biggest basketball hypocrite on the face of the earth. When going up with his shot, he draws contact, which is accepted and normal. But then he's gotta kick out his legs and flail. So, you think he's just a strong, tough player right?

Then on defense, he's the biggest flopper imaginable. If you wanna play a tough man role, fine(ala Shaq). But it sickens me to see him play complete opposite ways on the different sides of the court. of course it goes without saying that he gets the calls both ways.

Nothing new, obviously, but it still pisses me off.

If the Spurs understood the concept of rebounding, they win. Quit blaming the refs.
