Because the Lakers main purpose of trading Gasol was for a Point Guard. Now they got one.

It's almost like no one wants to be Houston's back up plan since we wouldn't trade with them until after the Howard saga crashed!

No reason for LA to trade Pau now since Howard staying put, they got a PG....

Lowry is way better than Sessions but they just wanted a competent PG so no bye Gasol anymore.

    Lakers vs Mavs 2012 pick

They didn't even have to give up the Mavericks pick which is the better pick and especially will be after this trade?! Well it is top-20 protected and the Mavs are currently 17th to draft so ... I guess I understand not to take the risk. But still...stupid Lakers.

I think the whole league was held up by the Howard deal, not just Houston.

Lakers look damn good on paper now. Only weakness is MWP and bench, but loaded at 4 positions.
