Portland is beating them by like 30 points right now. How do you beat the lakers? Just hope your shots are on, and hope theirs are off?

wow lakers are going to be mad coming to houston.

lakers dont bring intensity every night and they arent great on defense, but they're so big that they can still affect all your shots.

you have to play great defense and offense to beat the lakers.

In the Rockets first meeting in LA, they were blowing out the Lakers by like 19 points in the first half. Then they got blown out afterwards and lost big time. It's a pretty typical trend even early in the season from the Rockets.

But basically keep the flood gates open and never let up. Play Gasol physically, and keep Kobe in check as much as you can. The difference in our upcoming game in LA vs our first game early in the season is Battier is back and isn't rusty. Kobe can and probably will still go off, but he'll definitely have to earn it.

EDIT: It's a home game. The Rockets have shown they're capable of blowing teams out and they have by a lot recently. The only thing is to keep up the intensity. I mean seriously how many 15+ point leads have we had lately that we lost or just squeaked by to get a win? If the Rockets had a true closer this team would be legit. Yao is surprisingly clutch in crunch time though, but you need that good perimeter finisher.

Lets not forget we played them down to the wire last meeting with a shorthanded squad. Last year we blew them out about this time of year, minus Pau, minus Yao. We've been devastating at home. Some of their guys may miss due to suspension.

Oh and we have Ron. :D

they'll still be going to the finals

they have superior talent and they have Kobe and they're top 6 defensively FG %, this is just one bad game, we could barely hold onto 19pt lead.

Portland was making all of their shots. They'll have trouble beating the Lakers in a 7 game series. In fact most people would. I agree that to stop the Lakers you'll need to play physical and intense for 48 minutes.

The only way the Lakers lose before the Finals is for Odom to play like a dog, which is quite possible. The mystery is which round of the playoffs will he disappear in.

Definitely, get physical with them and make Kobe play superhero against Battier and Artest.
