Suppose the 2011 NBA Finals is between LA and Miami. I guess neither team is too popular right now amongst Rockets fans. But who would you rather see win it?
What beef do the Rockets have with MIA? Did we take them to 7 games in the 1st round with a depleted team? Did Ralph Sampson hit "the shot" against the Heat? Sorry but I will never be a Lakers fan for as long as I live.
I will cheer against the heat every game except if they play the lakers in the finals because I could never cheer for Kobe!!
This kind of two-team league is really bad for the NBA. It's the sports equivalent of the few rich-get-richer and then the poor desolate masses. There are some decent teams left in the league but it'll take a good amount of luck + Tonya Harding action to be able to beat the Lakers or Heat. This is NOT good for the NBA but it's what America wants with its superstar infatuation.
Has something like this ever happened in the history of pro sports? This trio is not guaranteed anything and the pressure to win is going to be there maybe they get a past next season because they have no depth, but after that people will expect them to win. If it blows up in their faces or they do put the Lakers on ice it's going to be interesting to watch
