Talking to folks around the NBA, the feeling is that this deal could go down in the next 5 days. The takes never stop.
On the Shams reporting, 'Kyrie feels his next contact shouldn't have stipulations' Translation: he wants to be able to have paid leave when it suits him. Next team beware.
Please send that clown to the LA circus. Idgaf if they win another title. Let LAL mortgage their picks all the way to 2029 for it. Once WB is in BKN Durant will demand a trade and the best the Nets can expect in return is maybe Herro.
Kyrie never forgot after Joe Tsai strong armed in earlier in the regular season (suspensions, lecturing, treating him like a kid). He played nice right until he held the power, but I bet he pretty much made up his mind back then.
It will be impressive if Nets and Kyrie get what they want at expense of Lakers. With only half a year to jell, doubt that LA can put it together. It would be funny if KD publicly demanded that Nets either trade him and Kyrie both or make Kyrie play out the rest of the season. Would be fun soap opera to observe. KD could easily demand that of Kyrie with straight face and it's 50/50 that Kyrie may actually oblige him.
If the Suns ownership was actually finalized, I could see: CP3 + Jae Crowder + Shamet + Picks for Irving + Joe Harris. The Suns are worried about CP3's slippage, and don't have a succession plan. They could sign Irving to an extension, and move on from CP3. Brooklyn gets CP3 to feed Durant the ball for this season (and next), if they don't rebuild right away. They also get a much lower cost shooter to replace Joe Harris and his terrible contract (Shamet) and Jae Crowder (who they might flip) + draft picks to rebuild. Durant and/or CP3 can be flipped later for more picks and younger assets.
What power does he hold? He needs the Nets to get him to a competitive team that will pay him big $$.
