No timeouts; no problem. I'll just dribble the length of the court for an easy layup. unbelievable So is this is second game winning layup? He had one against Boston, too. Anymore...can't recall.
here's the Boston one <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Lj66SuIg6tg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That could've easily got blocked if there was a weakside man behind Nene. If there was, Kyrie left his feet with nowhere to go.
What kind of point is that? Left his feet too soon if there was a blocker there??? "He could've easily got blocked, if a blocker came over and Kyrie forced a shot?" There wasn't, so he took it all the way. If weakside left to help, then maybe he passes or alley-oop.
Well technically, if Charles tried a bit harder on defense, Stockton would have easily missed that shot.
Yep, Stockton jumped with nowhere to go had Charles been there for the block. He had no one to pass to on that play; Malone was too busy bear-hugging Drexler for a pass.
Irving made that look so easy. Hard to believe he's a rookie. Not saying he will be a better player, but Irving is ahead of Rose at the same point in his career. He is much more polished and confident than Rose was.
This makes no sense whatsoever!!!! Nene actually left his man to help out on Irving, he WAS the help defense. Driving to the hoop is a strategy every PG uses to break down the defense, Basketball101. Irving did not just jump to nowhere, that was an obvious attempt to score, Nene was the last man on D, even Helen Keller would have realized that. If anything it was just a poor block attempt by Nene, he left his feet too soon. Also if you want to talk about ifs, then "if" Irving had passed to the man Nene was guarding, he would have had an uncontested basket. The play was simply very smart, give credit where credit is due.
You misunderstand krnxsnoopy's point: Nene was Lawson help defense. But where was Nene's help defense.
Woah woah woah calm down!! I'm saying he would have got blocked (very easily by any nba player) if there was someone behind Nene. Obviously there wasn't a man there so everything worked out for him. But what was he going to do if there was? He was going full speed coast to coast with Afflalo at his hip. What other plays did he have? Was he going to stop and throw a tear drop? With Afflalo right on his hip? Not really feasible going that fast with a defender shoulder-to-shoulder with him. Jump stop and shoot a jumper? Afflalo was all over him, but Irving was a half step ahead of him. He only had one play and IF there was another defender he would have gotten blocked, game over. Nice drive and finish but poor defense on the part of Denver.
unbelievably stupid logic. Had there been somewhere there, he had no play and would have been blocked? So, what would Lin have done if he beat his man *and* Nene plus yet another defender come to block his shot? He wouldn't have an option to pass the freaking ball for a dunk?? You are insanely stupid for making an argument that Kyrie would have been blocked had there been a blocker in his face. just give up.
Not stupid. Have you ever played basketball?? If you did, it wouldn't be so hard to understand what I said. He was going to the hole no matter what. With the game on the line you'd want to have a Plan A and Plan B. He was committed to take it to the hoop from the moment he crossed halfcourt. That's plenty of time for a defense to adjust. He made the nice play but really Denver played crappy defense.
And you know if the entire frontline defense of Denver came to block his shot, Kyrie wouldn't have passed it...how? give up...you are looking really stupid.
On a side note i hope new york completely collapses although unlikely... and cleveland somehow manage to squeak in and play miami in the first round
