Saw some pics pop up on Facebook today and wanted show how proud we should be to have Kyle as a Rocket. On July 4th weekend, a family of 5 was driving home from Colorado when they were hit head on by a car that drifted into their lane. The parents were killed and 2 of the children had severe spinal chord injuries. More about this story can be found here: http://houston.culturemap.com/newsdetail/07-13-11-houston-community-rallies-around-car-crash-orphans-how-to-help-the-berry-kids/ Apparently, Kyle and Wilson Chandler took time out of their schedules to visit the kids in the hospital and chatted for 45 minutes. You can see the smiles on their faces.
I have driven that stretch of highway, and as with all stretches of highway out in the boonies, there is considerable increased danger - high speeds, sometimes single lane traffic, no medians, boredom by drivers, etc.
That is horrible what happened to those kids but I am proud that both Lowry and Wilson Chandler took time to do this. Players have a way to touch the lives of so many that the average person cannot. Acts of kindness like this makes me proud to be able to call myself a fan of Lowry and the Rockets.
Wilson would be perfect for us, brings defense and penetrating ability to the 3 spot. Lowry working on Moreys behalf.
I'm curious about this. I get the feeling that these visits are generally set up by the NBA, but with the lockout in place since July 1st (prior to the accident), it's obviously not the case here. It's wonderful regardless, but if they did this as a personal gesture it says even more about their character.
Awesone that WC is also there since he happens to be one of my favorite forwards in the NBA. Too bad we already have MM as the chosen one, that kid like lowry is one of the most underrated players in the league.
