Kyle Lowry has grown to be my favorite player on this Houston Rocket team. The question I have to ask you is, who is the player that resembles his game the most?

Here would be my report on his strengths and weaknesses on Kyle Lowry

    Strengths:
-Willing and Unselfish pass-first Point guard
    -Very strong and quick Player
    -Great defender
    -Excellent mid-range game
    -Great at drawing fouls.
-Aggressive and fearless slasher to the rim
    -Tough as nails
    -Excellent Court vision

    Weaknesses:
-Not the best 3 point shooter
    -Thread the needle guy
    -Can force passes
    -Frequent fouls defensively.

All said and done, I believe this guy is very similar to Devin Harris and Rajon Rondo. He scores like a Tony Parker, but everything else I see a lot more similarities to Rajon Rondo. From passing the ball to stealing the ball.

Some people may not realize this, but Kyle Lowry is shooting 31% from the field in the playoffs, which is pretty terrible considering the vast majority of his shot attempts are 2-pointers. I'm surprised that hasn't been a bigger deal on this BBS.

Probably because he averages 5-6 shots a game. He's not exactly chucking it up there like Alston, Artest, and Brooks tend to do sometimes.

Kyle Lowry gets it done. He should be our starter.

Well said, This is exactly why I hate it when people do nothing but ride stats like John Hollinger does.

Kyle Lowry also happens to control the ball very well, he doesn't turn the ball over that much at all. I see his game similar to Rajon Rondo's, but with a much better mid-range game. Much better. I would say he would play like Devin Harris, but Devin Harris is a scoring point guard. Devin also has a decent 3 point shot, but if Devin has any weaknesses it would be the 3 pointer.

To me, Kyle Lowry resembles a ninja turtle. Thick, solid, short, muscular, and no neck. Cowabunga!

    Well played. :D

I agree, too bad Adelman gave Brooks the starting job because he has been on this team longer :(

And for those of you guys voting other. Please tell me WHO that other guy is. Instead of just voting and leaving the thread.

I really hope you guys are joking about him being our starter. He's a good back up point guard with a lot of potential but Brooks has out played him.

Maybe in the playoffs so far. But when you are facing guys like Steve Blake and Derek Fisher, you are suppose to own those guys. I'd rather have Lowry be the starting simply because he has more PG qualities than Brooks will ever have in his career. Aaron is a below average passer and decision maker, while Lowry is above average at both of those areas. Aaron fails at feeding our stars, Lowry doesn't.

To me, Kyle Lowry reminds me of a PG version of this other guy in the picture.

And yes, both of them resemble Ninja Turtles.

Offensively, Lowry reminds me of Rodney Stuckey of the Pistons in that they both barrel into the paint and look to draw contact. Stuckey is obviously the better scorer and finisher and has a better first step, but Lowry makes up for it with his passing and traditional PG skills.

Defensively, it's weird but I see a lot of Chuck Hayes in Kyle. They're both good at bodying up on their opponent and has quick hands that will try to strip the ball when a player attempts a move. I think with time, Lowry can be a premier PG on the defensive end.

So how would they be alike?

They score similar, but they have nothing else in common? I'm sure Lowry has a closer comparison than that.

Let me repeat one more time, IF YOU CHOOSE OTHER PLEASE GIVE OUT THE GUY'S NAME INSTEAD OF JUST VOTING OTHER AND LEAVING.

Alright, but I think at times he's been overly hesitant. I'd like him to be more aggressive in seeking out that contact around the rim.

We will see how both performs next season. Call me crazy but I can see Brooks leading us as the starting pg next yr.

He's been doing that...He's been drawing fouls and dishing it out to his teammates. Who is the guy you think Lowry resembles the most then? I'm interested in your opinion, especially since you are already convinced LeBron is the GOAT.

From your last sentence there, I assume you're being sarcastic and actually have no interest in my opinion.

And Lowry is 1-14 from the field with no free throw attempts in his last two games at Staples Center. Hopefully he has better luck on Sunday.

Sorry about that part, I actually was serious. I was just saying that had some strong disagreements about that topic. Anyways, I think Lowry has similarities to Rajon Rondo what's your take on his closest similarity?

he actually reminds me of steve francis the way he penetrates, but without all the useless dribbling.

i picked jason kidd because both are thick pg's who look to pass.

He averaged 3.8 shots in the Portland series at a 30.4 FG%. But in the Lakers series, he's averaged 6.3 shots at a 31.5 FG%.

In comparison, his regular season numbers for this year are 5.8 shots at 47.5%. So at least against the Lakers, he's taking about the same number of shots.

I think the poor FG% has to with the fact that he's not drawing the fouls he normally expects when he drives into the paint. He's averaged 1.5 FT shots this series, and if the refs don't blow the whistle, it would count as a missed layup.
