Sophomore pg from Villanova according to nbadraft.nets 2007 mock draft. http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/kylelowry.asp Season Averages SEASON MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS 2004-2005 23.2 7.5 3.2 2.0 1.7 1.23 1.3 .2 2.3 .421 .635 .227 1.18 2005-2006 29.3 11.0 4.3 3.7 2.1 1.74 2.3 .2 2.8 .466 .786 .444 1.45 NBA Comparison: Tim Hardaway Strengths: Can get anywhere on the floor whenever he wants ... His heart and passion for the game put him on an elite level rarely seen in today's spoiled basketball players ... Rebounding ability is an unusual attribute for a 6-0 guard ... His ability to lock in and defend makes in special as well ... Extremely quick hands and feet, he is incredibly disruptive on the defensive end ...He plays so hard it is difficult to know where he is on the court at all times, just ask Raymond Felton who got all he wanted in the Sweet 16 last year ... His reputation as a winner is unparalleled and his will to win is as strong as they come ... Natural floor general with the ability to get players shots with his quick decision making ... Very physical, he's able to use his great body strength to overpower guards on both ends of the floor ... Weaknesses: His jumper off the dribble has been one of the few knocks to his game ... Must develop more cosnisistency on his outside shot ... At 6' foot he is a bit undersized, but plays much bigger ... Having come off a slight ACL tear last year his knee recovered faster than I have ever seen or heard a player come back from an injury like that and play productively that same year. So the strength of that knee will be something to watch throughout his career ... His temper and his ability to keep his emotions in check could prevent him from being a heady floor leader if he allows his emotions to get the best of him. -Aran Smith 11/1/05 This could be good for us if he goes as high this year as they have him going next year but I doubt it. He seems like he'd be in Daniel Gibson's boat as a guy who should've stayed another year. Anyone see him play a lot?
Interesting; his situation seems very similar to Dee Brown's last year; a member of one of the most sucessful college teams in the nation, overshadowed by his senior teammates; burning his draft card to see where he stands in a year rather light on point guard talent. Still, it's an excellent decision for him, as he's got Villanova's sucess as momentum behind him, and I hope he does well at Orlando (he definitely should be invited), though unless he has some monster workouts to get a first round guarantee, I'd expect him to go back to 'Nova next year and raise his stock tremendously playing with Mike Nardi and Curtis Sumpter. The only thing you hope is that he doesn't follow Jason Gardner's footsteps, get exposed in at the camp, and go undrafted after graduating...
There's no question he's a first rounder, he might even go lottery. He drives the lane a ton and takes contact and finishes. Personally, I'm not a big fan of him. He's not a great passer and his long-range shot is nonexistent. Rockets should definitely pass.
i see him as a late first rounder. he's a tough, smart, athletic kid but doesn't distribute and involve his teammates well and doesn't have a jumper whatsoever. he's basically a slightly taller nate robinson who can play some defense. that's it. i'm not a big fan, and teams would be morons to take him in the lottery.
Yeah, at this point, the only guys I would get excited about entering the draft are potential top 5-10 picks. Guys like Noah or McRoberts who would possibly push guys down to us.
The Rockets do have a very good second round pick. While I wouldn't mind getting a big man, I expect the Rockets will be able to get a starter quality guard with their pick regardless of who comes out. If the Rockets don't get a PG with the first pick, they may go that route with the second pick.
he's not for sure in the lottery and he doesn't do everything better than dee brown. dee is a much better shooter and distributor. and just because he is better than dee brown in some aspects doesn't mean he's going to go lottery. brown is projected as an early-mid second round pick. being slightly better than him means you are early second-late first.
