According to Patricia, Kyle Hill signed with Villeurbanne of France. With that mess with Rice medical status we may lost this trade anyway, but if Rice will be a rocket, we lost a possibility sign Hill for a cheap price.

Well, if the trade doesn't go, it doesn't go. But as far as Hill is concerned, don't we still retain his rights if he comes back? However, as far as backing up/replacing Moochie is concerned, I suppose it is an option that's gone, but I agree with Oeilpere and others have said in different threads, which is Hill was probably destined for third string/IR if anything, unless he could prove otherwise. If for some reason he does turn out to have significant skills, we could still get him in the future.

Man, that sux! I hope this trade falls through, i would have liked it if Rice was 100%. But even now when there are doubts, i dont want him at all, he's just to vulnerable to start 82 games.

I didn't think we would sign him anyway since we're a full house. Even if we did sign him I doubt he would play more than 10-15 games, if we stay healthy. I hope and think moochie is coming back, and if we need another guard I think the rockets would take Sean Colson over Hill, in my opinion just because they both seem like scorers and if we needed a smaller shooting guard I think they would take Colson.

If the Rockets really wanted Hill right now he would be much closer to Paris, Texas than Paris, France.

Let the guy develop his game for a year or two and the Rockets still have the rights to him.

Would you take Hill signing in France as an indication that Moochie is coming back? If the deal is nixed and he stays in Dallas, there's no spot for him, so he'll go overseas. But, as a Rocket, he may be needed if Moochie goes elsewhere. Assuming he'd rather play in the NBA if he had an opportunity, we can infer that the Rockets told him they didn't have a roster space for him -- knowing they would be getting Moochie. Either that, or they told him that whether we got Moochie or not, he's not good enough to make the roster.

Kyle Hill ($44 draft pick) signed with Villeurbanne of France. [thanks to
    Jed Tai]

We couldn't find $44 under the cap to sign him? :D

JV, my sentiments exactly. They are "parking" him for d'ment &/or as an option to recall in a pinch.
