I just spoke to an engineer at Channel 51, and he told me that he is completing the final paperwork needed to get their channel added to Dish Network. The channel number will be 8577 which will be added to the Dish Network programming in 1 to 2 weeks.
CRAP! I just went and bought a $99 outdoor antenna so I would get better reception when watching games on KNWS and was losing faith that they would get added to Dishnetwork before the end of the season. Furthermore, I spent all day yesterday on my roof mounting the stupid thing while at the same time, trying not to wet myself because I am scared of heights (2 1/2 story roof)! CRAP CRAP CRAP!!! I want my 99 bucks back and a new pair of drawers!
DirectTV will probably follow fairly soon in getting KNWS, makes sense for them. Probably in a few months.
Did you ask him who the dumbass was who missed the deadline last year? I hope that dickless wonder is fired. DirecTV - check High Def big screen - check NBA League Pass - check Rockets in digital quality - NO!?!? Yea, I'm a lil pissed.
Codell, sorry to hear that bro. but at least you can watch it......hey, thanks for the great job you have been doing for the chat room....
i have basic time warner cable in sugar land (KNWS is cable channel 2)...am i the only one that sees NBC on channel 2 instead of KNWS??...i get NBC on channel 2 and 12...its fcuked up...
We went thru this a while back.. It seems that about half of the posters who responded said they got shadows of channel 2(KPRC) on their cable KNWS channel.. I personally don't...but sometimes the rception leaves a bit to be desired.. but for the most part, my signal is clear..
Thank you r-f-s-81, for the great info. I got my Dish Network a week ago and did call their CS regarding Channel 51/Rox games. But, was told that I will only be able to watch Rox games on Channel 39 and TNT for the rest of this season.
] You are not alone. One time I was so confused I thought someone was trying to shoot Yao Ming only to realize it was a mixture of pictures from NBC and KNWS To solve this problem (until KNWS have enough money to purchase better tranmitters) simply go and buy a external antena (anyone under $20 will) and use it when the game is on.
Hey mine's worse. I get half NBC and half KWNS. So I can KINDA watch the game, but not really ... unless I go next door
Do you know if you will have to get an extra satellite like you have to do for like channel 22,45, and the other lower powered channels?
Me too. I REALLY like it when it's a good rox game on thrusdays during friends. That's the best. You get to kill two birds with one stone.
As soon as the Rockets were contimplating the KNWS broadcast I ordered the second Dish. When i spoke with the Dish people, about two months ago, they told me that any additions to their local line up will have to be on their second dish. I have mine. You better get yours. I am not saying that I know for sure, that everybody will need the second dish to get KNWS. I was not willing to take the risk of missing any of the games in Digital. As of yesterday the second dish was free. With all the request Dish Network may get to add a second dish they might start charging. I have mine. You better get yours.
