Kwanzaa

    So today is the first day of Kwanzaa.

    Does anyone really celebrate this?

    Considering its a holiday made up by a professor in the 60s, does it really have any more validity as a holiday than Festivus, made up by a network TV writer in the 90s?

    Not ripping on it, it seems to have a positive message, but since the media seems to be wishing me a Happy Kwanzaa today, I was wondering if the message is falling on deaf ears..

    Happy Kwanzaa

    Most holidays are 'made up' at some point

    I like Kwanzaa .. . .there is no harm in it
    I have not been able to embrace it fully . . . .

    Sorry to be totally oblivious. Ive heard it many times, but have no idea what kwanza really is. please explain.
