I've been watching him the last few games
I like what I see. I know some will say
he takes too many long shots.

But I understand this. He is wide open and
the defense has cut the passing lanes.
He needs to make the quick move down the whole
    If he gets a Floater shot . . . He'll be deadly
or a pull up jumper from 15~18 ft

    [like Mo's]

I like what Collier is doing as well.

I like his hustle, and he may be the best passer on our team. He is 1 of 2 players that is not afraid to do the dirty work (Collier also belongs in this small club)

The one major issue I have had thus far with KT is his inability to finish off his spin moves. He makes a beautiful spin move and gets to the rim but either misses or gets it swatted back in his face. I hope this is just an experience thing and not a height issue.

KT's effort on the glass is good some days and bad others. There are games where he does the dirty work but others where he kind of fades. This has been a knock on him since college. The only player that I feel that really hustles every single game is Jason Collier. I really feel that once he gets more PT, Collier can be a very good rebounder in this league. He is very sound fundamentally in terms of boxing out and getting position and simply makes that extra effort to go get the ball.

You know your hoops MManal. Couldn't have said it better. Collier has very good fundamentals (not the religious ones) I bet Gearge Karl is pulling out what hair he has left.

The power forward position is the position I expect to see change in. Mo's gotten into too much foul trouble, and their (Mo/KT) games do not compliment each other at all. By midseason, unless things change, I expect either KT to get more PT, and possibly make Mo come off the bench, or KT to be traded to somewhere like Detroit for a bigger banger (JYD).

I agree, many times KT will make a nice move, but just won't quite finish it off.

I didn't see too much of Collier in college, but what I did see, I liked. I tried to stay out of the Collier wars, and didn't bash nor defend him too much either way (now Cat and MM look like geniuses [IMG]). I knew that his type of game was perfect for this team, but had doubt if he had enough game to make an impact. He's showed confidence and fearlessness, and I'm pretty sure it'll be there the rest of the year. Even if not, when he was struggling at times in the preseason, he still drew charges/offensive fouls better than anyone else on the team.

You've gotta be happy that he's succeeding. I'm sure Karl would love a big man who can play on the perimeter to open up for Cassell, Thomas, Allen, and Robinson. Maybe Pryzbilla will learn to shoot from outside 3 feet in a couple of years.

Now, if CD is smart, he'll send off Bull and KT for a pair of Stacey Augmon and Chris Gatling, and we could have a lefthanded bench. [IMG]

    What is KT's contract situation?
we have him hemmed up through next year?

    honestly Judging KT against Mo
    [I know it's early]
KT is economical, younger [nba wise] and
the drop off isn't that d*mn significant

I agree with you Nike with starting KT (or Los) and Mo comes off the bench. I believe he'll be more productive that way. And by doing this our 4 spot will be more productive, and come crunch will be fresh.

I wouldn't trade KT for Jerome Williams. KT has moves. He is young. He doesn't finish well right now, but he will develop. He shows signs, then regresses. You know exactly what you get with Jerome Williams, and while he is a nice player who hustles every night, he has little upside. I don' think he is going to get a lot better. He hustles, but lacks the skills of KT.

I'm going to give Mo 20 games before I comment on his play. He sprained the ankle early in the year and that affected him. The last few games he's been 100%, but lets give him a few more. I hope everyone isn't looking for 20pts and 10rebs from Mo. It won't happen. He'll get 15 and 5-7 at years end.

It is pretty frustrating watching Kenny do a real sweet move, but then blow the layup, but we shouldnt really worry about that. Sooner or later he will start finishing.

As for the 3 pointers, I dont really blame KT. The defense is giving him the shot and a lot of times he'll find himself wide open at the 3 pt line. I mean, he CAN make the shot, so he takes it. But I agree that he really does have to work on his 3 point shot... maybe Bullard can give him some tips.

And also, Mo and Kenny will be battling for minutes, so that means that both of them will be playing harder.

Kennys the man. I cant believe we got him at 22, your right if he hit his jumpshot more consistently he'd be deadly. He has an awesome first step and great footwork. People talk about his height but I never seeing it being a real problem thus far.

You know I was thinking who does KT remind
me of . . .and I got it.

he is about a year or two from being
    another Brian Grant.

    WITH MORE OFFENSE
    D*mn decent Jumper
    Nice passes
    Good moves
    Improving Defense.

There is no substitute for a good-old hard, tenacious work ethic.

For all the things that each of you posted, the simple fact is that the main difference between KT and MoTay is that KT works hard for everything.

Maurice has had a couple of years of being fed his game in Clipperland. He still looks lost out there with us a great deal of the time. But I know he wants to improve. He is not happy. When he finds his groove, the KT-MoTay tandem will be deadly. I have no doubt.

As an added thought, IMHO KT was the key difference in two of our five wins thus far. He plays a lot bigger than his size and his quickness is consistently underestimated by Rocket's opponents.
