I sure hope the return of KT and Cato's play over the last 3 games convinces Rudy not to end games with the three guard lineup. The starting and finishing 5 should be Cato, KT, EG, Steve, and Cat. I know not to hold my breath but maybe just maybe Rudy will come to his senses. Ending games with the 3 guard lineup causes Cuttino to take dumber shots over taller players, causes bad defensive mismatchs, makes Mooch our primary dribbler, stops the development of franchise players, and is a major factor in our losses.
I agree completely. Three guards at the end of games including the "little dribbler" going one on one strikes me as a seriously dumb strategy. Rudy apparently has no confidence in his front line. Griffin posted up early for two baskets the other night and never got the ball inside again. How about getting the high percentage shot late in games?
Come on! We have been killing teams at the end of games with our three guard line-up. Even though we have lost almost all of them, we have managed to win one or two of those close games. And you want to change that?
Willis is good, but KT seems to be doing very very well this season. I think Rudy T should start and end with Cato, EG, Francis, Cat, and KT. The three guard ending is really not working too great for them. The three guards, whether it gives the Rockets an offensive edge I still don't know, but definitely takes away on the defensive end which is devastasting in end games.
Kenny during crunch time is asking for something bad to happen, offensively or defensively. I can see him traveling, doing his 8-step spin move, or forcing up a horrible shot against a triple team. Or is it KT getting called for a reaching-in foul? KT is way too mistake prone to play any significant PT.
Heres a funny quote from Griffin (from todays chronicle): Maybe he thinks Kenny will read this article, and figure out for himself, that he is suppose to pass out of a double team. Wait, were talking about KT right? I think he would rather change that to only pass out of a quaddrouple team!!!!
I think it's funny how they can mention anyone with posting up ability on the Rockets. If so, why don't we use it? The Rockets hardly ever post up with anyone. Kenny always uses his spin move to try and score. He used to post up more in years past, but it has become less and less this year.
