"Kramer's" Racist Tirade -- Caught on Tape Posted Nov 20th 2006 8:30AM by TMZ Staff WARNING: WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE IS PROFANE AND RACIAL VIDEO LINK Michael Richards exploded in anger as he performed at a famous L.A. comedy club last Friday, hurling racial epithets that left the crowd gasping, and TMZ has obtained exclusive video of the ugly incident. Richards, who played the wacky Cosmo Kramer on the hit TV show "Seinfeld," appeared onstage at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. It appears two guys, both African-American, were in the cheap seats playfully heckling Richards when suddenly, the comedian lost it. The camera started rolling just as Richards began his attack, screaming at one of the men, "Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a f***ing fork up your ass." Richards continued, "You can talk, you can talk, you're brave now motherf**ker. Throw his ass out. He's a ni**er! He's a ni**er! He's a ni**er! A ni**er, look, there's a ni**er!" The crowd is visibly and audibly confused and upset. Richards responds by saying, "They're going to arrest me for calling a black man a ni**er." One of the men who was the object of Richard's tirade was outraged, shouting back "That's un-f***ing called for, ain't necessary." After the three-minute tirade, it appears the majority of the audience members got up and left in disgust. Very strange. The live video is even stranger. There are tons of excuses he can make given the randomness of the video...none that would seem legit, though...but it is unclear exactly what is going on
it's not like he had a career after Seinfeld. it would be interesting to know what those hecklers were saying.

I hope this doesnt ruin Seinfeld reruns for me. I know it will though. Instead of laughing when Kramer pops through the door, I'm just going to be thinking about all the stuff that must churn in his head everyday... I havnt seen Seinfeld in a few months though, but the next time...
Wow, crazy video. My brother once saw Richards at a museum in Italy. My brother then asked him "Aren't you Kramer, can I get a picture?" Kramer then responds "People have feelings too" in a very sarcastic manner and tells my brother to get lost. I think Richards was upset that someone called him Kramer
Ok, that was funny. But only because it reminds me of UHF which I love. I don't know if it'll ruin Seinfeld, but I know from now on I'll really enjoy that clip of Andy Kaufman tossing water on Richards on live TV when he broke character during a skit on Fridays. Of course Richards was reportedly in on the gag, so that kinda takes away the fun of it.
whatever he had left of his career is all down the drain. There's no excuse that he can come up with to save him there.
Wow. That sucks. It's tough when you grow an attachment to onscreen characters, and then find out that their real life person holds something dark and sinister. I don't even think I can bring myself to watch that video. "These pretzels are making me racist."
Michael Richards and Kramer are two different people, always were, always will be. Kramer was not a racist, apparently Richards is. For those of you who know "insider" info on the show, you already know that Richards, of all the actors was most unlike his character. Jerry, essentially, played himself.
